Picked this up at a local flea market and also found 6 lb's of lye for five bucks....I was stoked!

ahh, so not quite a fritted plate...but a permeable membrane of some sort. still operates as a filtration app
never would've guessed it was used to make coffee Confused

so you could essentially use it as an extractor (place a small bowl/cup of ice on the top to act as a condenser) to extract whatever you want

That is one crazy coffee maker. Thanks for sharing. Curious as to its other uses. looks like it could be a good filter system with a larger bottom flask. The ideas are endless.
