I think we can all agree fight club is a great movie in everyway but agreeing that tyler and the narrator/protoginist are the same person so can some one explain to me or have a clue how the guy with the "bitch tits" dosent know tyler derdum if your forced to watch him say the rules everynight of fight club? Do you think its just a packed to always reffer to tyler in the third person so you can refer to him only if you know him personally?

Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but I could have sworn that when Bob approaches Ed Norton's character on the street after the first fight night he attends, he hugs him precisely because he recognizes him as Durden...however at that point both you and the narrator are supposed to be confused as to why Bob is thanking Norton's character for Durden's event.

When he sees him on the street he yells, "Cornelius?" which is one of the fake names he used for the groups. But when he talks about Tyler Durden, he talks in "supposedly"'s. He also says, "I go Tuesdays and Thursdays", which Ed Norton looks surprised and confused about.

I've seen that movie too many times. Laughing

You should pick up the book. There are some interesting differences.

I just read "Pygmy", another book by the same author. That book was outstanding. Like a modern version of "A Clockwork Orange".

Ohhhhhhh...was that when he realized that there were fight clubs popping up all over the place?

And doesn't Norton fight Bob one night?

Yes you two are correct, that's what stuck this idea. So now that were all up to par, whats everyone's thoughts on the paradox?

Yep, and right after that is the scene with Bob choking Ed Norton out with his tits Laughing

It's not really a paradox. It's just that Tyler is starting to build his army, you know, Project Mayhem. A tightly regimented organization, with many cells capable of operating completely independent of central leadership. Ed Norton isn't aware of anything Tyler is doing at that point in the story, and neither is the audience.

^^^ But the project mayhem recruits know that norten is durden at this point. They think he is testing them not crazy.

Well not when Ed Norton meets Bob on the street. Bob doesn't know he's Tyler Durden, yet. It's just showing that Tyler is busy setting up Fight Clubs while Ed Norton is "asleep". But yes, all his craziness is explained away as some kind of test. Like the "Near Life Experience" when they take that car ride in the rain and Tyler tells Ed to "just let go".

If I try feeling Norton's emotions and pay close attention to the sounds and his interaction with Tyler Durden as he shoots himself at the end It is a pretty intense Deja Vu ;D Anyone else have this effect? I personally would doubt there's a Nexian on earth who didn't have this thought.
My journey will never end.

Survivor is also a lot of fun.

You know that scene when he's trying to convince those cops of what's going on, and it turns out that they're Mayhem recruits too? From that, I got the impression that he, as Durden, had warned all Mayhemians that he may sometimes try to stop their plans, and that they should never listen to him when that happens.
