SWIM just bought this recently, SWIM thinks it's (hopefully) a Peruvian Torch.  This cacti is a Stetsonia Coryne it has yellow spikes, depending on the maturity or growth stage of the cactus its possible that your cactus at one point had white/grey spikes yea? it also could have its diff spike color bc of conditions it was grew in. You mean SWIM's Cacti will have longer and more spikes when it gets older? but there was another one at the greenhouse, very big, the size of a human (and very expensive too) but had no significant difference from SWIM's. Are you sure this doesn't look like a torch and not even near?

i did not say longer or more, if you want i am sure you could cut all the spikes off if you didnt want them. Stetsonia Coryne. Also known as the toothpick cactus, this frequent look-alike has ribs very similar to that of T. Pachanoi. The biggest difference however is that where the spines come out the ribs usually appear to widen, giving the ribs a wavy vertical appearance. Beautiful clone dude! Its always hard to laydown an exact id when they are young.... But Id say its a Peruvianus with perhaps some Bridgesii genes's in there too. Id lean more to the Peruvianus side on this one tho... Either way, Its the real deal!
Looks very very nice, Id say you got a great find there, Lovely bloom on the skin and great even growth.

i'd let it get to 4-5' before cutting(more boimass in a shorter that way!)
also, tip cuttings 10-12" are recommended

Yeah , i don't think it's a toothpick cactus ; they have black spines near the top, and the spines are vary in length greatly on a toothpick cactus. even on my little one
and your's has the little gull wings "v" above the spines , a sign of psychedelia apparently
