Were there any lab analysis (GC/MS etc) done on the mimosa extract (not just on "jungle spice" and besides the one from the DEA) ? Got GVG ? Mhm. Got DMT ? Yes. Cold methanol extract of mimosa analyzed in this experiment by LC-MS: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=10553If you analyze white spice extracted its only one main compound. Unless the oxide is present GC/MS won't be able to tell.

Yeah read about, thanks. I am particulary interested in an A/B and/or STB analysis, since I'm still confused whether the technique changes the composition of the extract. Got GVG ? Mhm. Got DMT ? LC-MS FTW. would be awesome if MALDI could be implemented, but the analytes would probably be too close to the matrix masses "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." ~ hassan i sabbah "Experiments are the only means of attaining knowledge at our disposal. Quote:would be awesome if MALDI could be implemented, but the analytes would probably be too close to the matrix masses True. But what advantage would MALDI add besides high mass resolution? Its the same if one recrystallizes the material and ends up with a fluffy white product that makes one see funny things. Of course it will vary if one uses a different solvent like hexane as opposed to toluene as initial non polar solvent when extracting base.

simplicity of application, particularly sample prep. add half a microliter matrix, half a microliter analyte to the plate target. dry, load the plate, and zap. done. ^^True. I remember with MALDI I could just slap some cells on a plate and analyze some peptides. Was nice for those molecules.
