Everyone knows the seven heavenly virtues...
From them, I have devised the following for myself.
After hearing that alexander (sasha) shulgin infact has very high moral standards,
I was inspired once again to think that virtue
is the best way to be.
It's the eternal trade-off: good cannot exist without evil, as all things have polarity.
To be evil appears to be advantageous at first: I can do what I want, I can get
what I like, I can take as much as I can... but to be good attracts support, and
true goodness has no measurable price. Virtue is it's own reward, to be virtuous
is the feeling of not indulging, of not thinking how much you could have got for
yourself, of not thinking what can I take, as well as 'what can I give, how can
I help, where am I most needed?'
- Humility. don't think less of yourself, instead think of yourself less.
- Budget one's time and monitor one's activity to guard against laziness.
- Chastity. Abstaining from sexual misconduct.
- Always be real honest with yourself - and everyone else for that matter.
truth, joy and love are interchangeable.
- Refrain from being distracted, or influenced by hostility, temptation or corruption.
Maintain a good working routine.
Do not be hopeless, instead look to be helpful.
Be brave. Be confident. Be truthful. Be happy, and mindful.
