If you know me very well, you will know that I am constantly on the push for creating happy places for powerful women in society. This talk was really inspiring to me, I'll summarize a few of the key points to hopefully whet your appetites:

-On the grasslands of Africa, women used to provide 60% of the food via gathering, and so were financial equals, and thus equals in all other aspects of the love partnership. With the invention of the plow, women lost their economic power, and thus most of their power within relationships. Women are now reentering the work force, at differing rates in different countries, but that is the overall trend. During today's times, we are going "back to the future," in which women can once again have economic equality in relationships, and thus overall equality. In essence, the human spirit has already experienced the equality in relationships we seek.

-Humans aren't biologically designed to be happy, but we can make our own happiness.

-Three instances in which love between you and your partner(s) can occur: Lust, romantic love, attachment. Not mutually exclusive. Lust exists to attract you to a potential mate, romantic love to keep you with that mate, and attachment so you "put up with each other" long enough to raise children.
