This is such a fucking amazing album to smoke DMT to. Track it down by any means necessary - the original release, not the re-release that has been hacked to fuck. Play it at volume 33 on your amp and experience 3AM Eternal for yourselves.

“If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6 and 9, then you would have a key to the universe.”
- Nikola Tesla

It's chock full of shamanic significance. I wonder if they knew exactly what they were doing, or whether they were channeling something without their knowing (probably a bit of both).

Hop on the Last Train to Trancentral and all will become clear. The original album had a different mix of Last Train To Trancentral to the single they released.

Much love to all aboard Very happy

I'm watching the 5 parts series on youtube. Will this do or is it not the original?

A series on Youtube? Not sure what you mean mate, i'm talking about this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_White_Room

When I mean the original release, I was on about the one not released by Arista. There's a few different releases but the Arista release has been butchered a bit.

It really deserves a listen through so you can experience the entire journey. Just playing one or two tracks probably won't have the same effect. On the original release all the tracks on the first half of the album all merge together.

Though you've got me intrigued - can you post a link to this Youtube series you've tracked down? Mind you if someone has put the album on Youtube I bet the sound quality ain't much chop. Track it down on your favourite torrent site - they were all about Kopyright Liberation anyway Smile

I'm very interested by your description and would love to track it down. My favorite torrents don't seem to have it. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the link Dimitrius.

I've been reading stuff recently about chaos magick, and the more I think of it, the more I think that the KLF's musical releases were some kind of sigil. When they deleted their entire back catalogue at the height of their fame and left the music industry it was like destroying the sigil.

They were fans of Robert Anton Wilson and the Illuminatus! trilogy so maybe it isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

I think the first track on the album is some sort of banishing ritual (What Time is Love), with all the tribal-like drumming and sirens to scare away the evil spirits Laughing - I find it a bit harsh to smoke to myself, but anyway, well worth the journey!

Or mebbe i've just been smoking too much DMT, you can see cosmic significance in just about anything under the right circumstances Very happy

Dude got to admit, I think I like reading your descriptions of it rather than listening to it Very happy. It's just not something I would normally listen to.

To me, it sounds like cheesy british acid-house....crazy sirens, weird ass 2 second samples repeated like 15 times in a row with them trying to rap/flow to the candied-out music. But dude if you're feeling a cosmic get off in listening to it, then by no means let me ruin that for you.

I'm still gonna give a it a few more listens tho, maybe it just needs to grow on me. But thanks again for the link Very happy

Oh man, I love that response!!!
I do CD mastering for a living & you just gave me another ambiguous response to use when inevitably asked; "what do you think of our music", by the band!!
(hardest question to answer...ever!! even when you dig the music!!)
(best response: "you guys play music?!?!?!" Shocked )

BTW, I was in high school when this record came out, I still have a cassette of it in a drawer somewhere here, might have to find it & give it a listen.
Although I gotta admit...that this kind of music isn't really my bend either, but I did buy the record back then, so there must have been something I identified with on it.
If I remember correctly, the song 3AM eternal was a semi-hit single back in the 90's, or one of the songs on there was anyway.
KLF were pretty big in the UK, kind of a pop-rave thing.

Thanks!

Lol!!

On the one hand, all the criticisms leveled at this album are true. I sometimes do wonder if i'm alone in my admiration for those aging fakers. On the other hand I think there's something deeper going on. Even if it is a bit cheesy I still like it - it has a nice set of resonances Very happy I still stand by my opinion of it's shamanic qualities. Try it with spice and a blue lotus mix, and see what happens (if anything)!

The whole thing I was ranting on about the 3AM eternal was an insight I had into the creation of the universe - something along the lines of electromagnetic resonance combining into 3 dimensions in an infinite series (like recurring remainders in some fractions, e.g. 1/3 = 0.333333........ into infinity. It struck me that the infinite recursion might be why we have stable matter, and 3 is the minimum stable number of dimensions). Also you can formulate Maxwell's electromagnetic theory in 6 dimensions (these groups of 3 resonating with the electromagnetic cloud out of which we formed to form what we see as electricity, magnetism and gravity - everything with a 1/d squared distance). Like I said though, I was tripping at the time Very happy

The Manual (how to have a number one the easy way) is a good read though.

Mind you I have a pretty wide range of tastes, my trip tracks last night included Slayer - Reign In Blood (needed to break through some negative energy at the time, and it worked very well!), The Verve - Storm in Heaven and A Northern Soul, and CD 2 of Lee "Scratch" Perry - Arkology box set. Whatever works, y'know?

Didnt they burn a million dollars?

But im looking for the experience reportWink and cant find it.

Hope you dont mind but im gonna move this thread over to "General DMT discusion".

No worries about moving the thread mate - probably also a good thing to delete those torrent links too. I did a google search and this thread came up, don't want some music industry lawyer jumping all over this place and wrecking everything.

Although I didn't mention it in the first post, my experience was the electromagnetic resonance thing as the cause of having 3 dimensional matter. It would seem to account for the fuzziness of things in the quantum world, and as you proceed further down the series we'd get more and more solidly defined matter. If E=MC squared (and if mass and energy are interchangable) then the universe may well be an electromagnetic phenomenon of some kind. It was strange since I was talking about Nikola Tesla at work in the morning, just a weird series of strange resonances/coincidences I guess. Tesla was the resonance master, and the 3AM Eternal thing just seemed to tie in nicely with that theory. And if consciousness is also an electromagnetic phenomenon then coincidences may be resonances in a higher dimension. Who knows?

Yep, these are the guys that burnt a million quid. I think that there was more to these guys than being a cheesy pop act - that may have just been a cover of some kind. They were using all this chaos magick symbolism, who knows, maybe there's something to it. They were pretty influential in their own way, no KLF, no Orb etc etc. Also, "Chill Out" is a pretty nice album, about as far away from the techno-pop of The White Room, though I don't expect that people will take my word for it now!

Also, have a search for The Manual (how to have a number one the easy way). It's on the web in various places to read, but don't want to post the link in case I step over the line like I did before. I'd be interested in what pro musicians/studio engineers have to say. It's a pretty cynical read but all the same there's a grain of truth in there, and one that applies to things outside the music industry. Also it has the message of getting off your arse and get on with doing things - a message I needed to hear at the time!

WhoaMan,

I really dig what you are talking about with the infinite series forming into resonances of mass. Do you have any more on this theory (youtube links/readings)? I wouldn't mind reading over that a bit, piqued my curiosity to say the least. I also definitely wiki'd that stuff about KLF. That would be crazy if they were a cover for something bigger!

Anyway, giving this album another listen to like I said. It's definitely a grower. I can see where you're coming from more. I think I just needed to turn my dial back to 1990; sometimes I gotta do that when journeying back in time through music. Gotta get in the mindset of the times haha.

Must say I must also compliment you on The Verve. Not many I know give this band enough credit beyond Bittersweet Symphony; they're very underrated in my opinion.

Heh, well I thought that it was only in the realms of mysticism and conspiracy theories like Montauk and the Ong's Hat legend that anything comparable came up. So maybe i've read stuff in the distant past and forgotten about it, or maybe it was a moment of divine inspiration. However, i've been digging recently because I think it's a pretty intriguing theory, and found this lot:

Nikola Tesla wrote:

According to an adopted theory, every ponderable atom is differentiated from a tenuous fluid, filling all space merely by spinning motion, as a whirl of water in a calm lake. By being set in movement this fluid, the ether, becomes gross matter. Its movement arrested, the primary substance reverts to its normal state. It appears, then, possible for man through harnessed energy of the medium and suitable agencies for starting and stopping ether whirls to cause matter to form and disappear. At his command, almost without effort on his part, old worlds would vanish and new ones would spring into being. He could alter the size of this planet, control its seasons, adjust its distance from the sun, guide it on its eternal journey along any path he might choose, through the depths of the universe. He could make planets collide and produce his suns and stars, his heat and light; he could originate life in all its infinite forms. To cause at will the birth and death of matter would be man's grandest deed, which would give him the mastery of physical creation, make him fulfill his ultimate destiny.

Also, i've been reading the book "Liber Null and Psychonaut" by Peter Carroll (Chaos Magick), and in the first pages it mentions something about the origins of the universe that pretty closely ties in with this stuff.

At the time I was convinced that it all had something to do with logarithmic series like the golden spiral - which is pretty strange in itself because i'm pretty much a duffer when it comes to maths! (Unless I really need to use it (like when I was playing around with OpenGL and 3D), then i'll make the effort to play with it).

Then today I found these:

http://www.mathpages.com...me/kmath492/kmath492.htm
From the above link wrote:

For an interesting application of this curve, see Sections 730 and 731 of James Clerk Maxwell’s Treatise on Electricity and Magnetism, which presents a discussion of general oscillatory motions. Maxwell points out that many such motions can essentially be represented by the motion of a particle subjected to two forces, one directed toward some central point with magnitude proportional to the distance from that point, and another retarding force proportional to the speed of the particle. He shows that the path of a particle subjected to such forces is a logarithmic spiral.

http://www.lampsacus.com...CHFIELDVIDEOFEEDBACK.pdf
http://www.larouchepub.c...008-1/pdf/59-63_3501.pdf - I mention this one since it mentions cellular automata which is mentioned somewhere in the Incunabula catalogue.

I've gone back to look at the Ong's Hat stuff recently, and its starting to make sense now! I always was properly fascinated by this legend.

And another weird coincidence that has just cropped up as i'm typing this is that there is a TV programme about the Rosslyn Chapel on later. Apparently there was encoded in the stonework some musical stuff that related to sacred geometry and healing, which is mentioned in that crystalinks link!

Ong's Hat (some of the links in these pages may only be found on the wayback machine now):
http://old.disinfo.com/a...pages/dossier/id219/pg1/
http://deoxy.org/irc/index.htm
http://www.incunabula.org/

So there you go - chaos magick, hyperspace travel cults, sacred geometry, Nikola Tesla, The KLF and DMT! Very happy

[edit]: Electromagnetism (and gravity) in 6 dimensions - maybe everything in 6D appears as 1/distance squared to us in 3 dimensions:
http://en.wikipedia.org/...l_space#Electromagnetism
http://arxiv.org/abs/hep-th/0203254
But then again, it looks like 1/D squared also has a relationship to the golden spiral too.
[/edit]

Yeah, they are severely underrated. Must say that I never paid them any attention until fairly recently after seeing them play at Glastonbury on TV one night. I love that guitar sound in Star Sail, less is definitely more in that case! Two brilliant albums.
