Sorry, I dont mean to ask a stupid question here, but, why isnt IPA used for re-crystalization? I'm thinking that its because it doesnt layer out the impurities like Naphtha or Hexane does. So when you Re-X with IPA you just get all of your goods back impurities and all, is that right?
Normally if I'm going to do an extraction I go Big and I go BLAB. Just the other day my friend's cat's cousin was doing a small extract so he decided to do a simple STB. Everything went as it should except at the end... *^#!.... so he was left with a good ammount of nice honey looking goop. I know, shoulda, woulda, coulda, didnt. So now its just a simple matter of re-x tek. Easy enough. Then I started wondering, hmmm. If I can dissolve spice into IPA for the purpose of making Changa, then why cant I dissolve this honey spice goo in IPA and slow evap it into nice crystals?
I'm pretty much a rock when it comes to Chem 101. It's monkey see monkey do for me. Any way, any answers out there? I want the honey colored goo into a crystal form. Will 99% IPA work? If not why?
Thank You,
Respectfully
