Yo so me and my friend stumbled across a patch of Pedicularis groenlandica while on a backpacking trip in a mountain range close to where I live. I cant find any info on the active ingredients does anyone know what the actives are in these? also is there any combination's that should be avoided with these flowers?

I don't think they should interfere with much maybe an MAOI would be bad,but IDK. They usually enhance,or synergize causing a little more sedation and relaxation.This was copied and pasted from edot

well for pedicularis Neolignan, phenylpropanoid and iridoid glycosides seem to be the actives.

the plant contains
Iridoid glycosides iridoids; 6-O-acetylaucubin; 8-epiloganin; mussaenoside; shanzhiside methyl ester; aucubin ; euphroside; plantarenaloside; shanzhiside methyl ester; gardoside methyl ester; ixoroside; 8-epiloganin; mussaenoside; pedicularioside; penstemoside; penstemonoside; boschnaloside;
and phenylpropanoid glycosides, verbascoside and pedicularioside
to name a few

I think it's more of a muscle relaxant not a pure high if comparing to cannabis, some don't get much effects at all depending on the strain. Groenlandica is supposed to be more sedating .I don't know how it works you could ask sputnik at edot and he might know, but if you worried about side effects there are none that I've ever heard about and pedicularis is somewhat popular in online ethno stores. If you going to wild harvest theoretically since pedicularis is parasitic if hosting on a very toxic plant it could make the pedicularis toxic also usually not the case though. Look around what plants are growing around it to be safe though.

aight thanks for the info man yeah I was reading about pedicularises parasitic properties sketched me out a wee bit but the area that I harvested mine from were growing in a grassy meadow that the only poisonous plants around are false hellebore's which from what i read take pretty large doses to have negative effects and i dont think any were growing close to where the pedicularises were growing

Think it would pick up actives from another plant if it fed on another psychoactive plant?

Wouldn't be worth it even if it did. Just grow the psychoactive plant by itself so the psychoactive plant doesn't have to struggle because a parasite is stealing nutrients and living off of it.
