Salvia vs. DMT- which is more healing and/or important to you Options

I have a feeling alot of people on here will say DMT, but to me salvia seems much more healing. It's not as spiritual or mindblowing as DMT is but honestly my first experiences with salvia definitely made some huge impacts on my attitude and behavior, causing me to discontinue use of many things such as alcohol and try to make myself a stronger person.

Maybe it was just a timing type thing and maybe not, I have no idea. Anyways, VOTE!

Salvia seems to show me everything I don't want to see, while dmt shows me mostly what I want to see, and sometimes things I don't want to see. Both have their place. Sometimes, a good whipping from salvia is a good thing. Sometimes dmt can make a person a bit too full of disgusting love.

What was it about salvia that was healing for you? Salvia tells me, "you're not in control. You're dumb if believe any thought you have.....but I still love you anyway".

^ I went through a weird phase in my younger years involving poly drug abuse and thinking becoming into someone like how you described it that was full of too much love. This wouldn't be a bad thing in a different world but our reality is very different. I've had problems with no ambition, anxiety and depression in my past but ever since I went through a salvia use period none of those things have bothered me except for the occasional, harmless lazinessSmile

Salvia may present itself in a not as loving and beautiful way as tryptamines and phenethylamines but I feel like it has a special curative effect on the mind. Maybe its just me but ever since I worked with salvia my drug use has become that of the irregular trip, irregular marijuana use and the use of weak herbs such as yerba mate and kratom. Maybe it wasn't the salvia at all though, maybe it was just me maturing, I can't say but all I know is Salvia is DEFINITELY big time medicine and may be more suited than other psychedelics for work with people that are seeking cures for addiction and other mental problems due to short duration of action and seemingly a low chance of aggravating the problems instead of alleviating them

Can you elaborate on the term "disgusting love" ? I don't know what that would be.

You don't find salvia mindblowing!!??!! You are either what they call a hard-head or you haven't smoked enough in one sitting (or maybe you've never smoked extracts?). Salvia is in a world of her own with respect to blowing of the mind, annihilation of the consciousness and obliteration of the ego.

I voted DMT, although it is a close call. The thing that tipped me was that I can't honestly say I have had a "good" trip on salvia. Many very insightful (and crushing) experiences, but the sheer difficulty of these voyages discourages me from using it regularly (or perhaps ever again). A medicine that is not used is not very effective!Smile (if any of these materials really falls under the umbrella of medecinesCool )

JBArk is a Mandelthought; a non-fiction character in a drama of his own design he calls "LIFE" who partakes in consciousness expanding activities and substances; he should in no way be confused with SWIM, who is an eminently data-mineable and prolific character who has somehow convinced himself the target he wears on his forehead is actually a shield.

to me dmt feels much more healing, and i think i learn much more through using dmt than salvia. But to each their own medicine Very happy

there both very close on the mindblowing scale though for being such different things. to me salvia is more strange and alien..the physical sensations of becoming other things and dimensions is world shatteringly real. because of this both are equally fascinating in my eyes

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

Unchecked love becomes oppressive and unattractive. Haven't you ever come across a person really full of themselves? Really high on love? Like they'll just say, "I love you. You are my brother" even if you have no interest in hearing that message? But the high person will insist. Eventually, that love turns in to insistence, turns to burning, turns in to clinging, turns in to greed, turns in to its opposite. What was once love turns to conflict.

Gotta go dmt. Salvia kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Then again I might not have approached it correctly.

I like my medicines to be safe so i would have to go dmt.

Salvia is a foreign substance to the human body while dmt is perfectly natural to the human body.
Dmt is produced in the human body meaning everyone alive has dmt being produced in their system all the time.

The other safer thing about dmt is that you just lie back and experience the journey and wouldn't really think of moving anywhere in real life terms. Salvia is very dangerous if you dont have a sitter. Getting up and walking around is very common on salvia. I know from personal experience because i fell down stairs in real life whilewalking about, in the salvia journey i was in a tunnel and i was simply walking down the tunnel trying to find something other than the tunnel Smile walking in salvialand = walking in real life and that aint good when your eyes are seeing something completely different to your actual surroundings.

You say dmt is more mindblowing and your probably right on that one, it was for me anyway Smile
Salvia is straight up strange where as dmt can fill you with euphoric moments of understanding and love, ive never had this on salvia.

I still like salvia though because it is so unique but nothing in the world beats dmt except maybe 5 meo dmt which i haven't tried yet but hopefully one day i can experience that too.

DMT is not MDMA.
it has the same potential for destroying the ego as salvinorin-a.

I think the 'disgusting love' described by Apoc and its progression from insistence to burning etc ending in conflict is not an inherent feature of DMT (or indeed MDMA) use.As veterans of MDMA will attest to, the almost 'disgusting love' it inspires never persists for long and once a meaty comedown supervenes the thought of such love for all rapidly fades.I suspect those afflicted with such 'disgusting love' and its progression are more likely to have character-flaws which lead them to behave thus.

In answer to the OP's question-DMT all the way!
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Salvia and DMT are both very important to me, but based on my relative frequency of use, I’d have to say that DMT is more important. But it’s not like I have to choose one and exclude the other – I like them both.

I’ve had a very positive relationship with salvia, but it can be so strange that it’s hard to figure out if there’s a “lesson” being taught. Although salvia is strange, it’s also more “human” than DMT – salvia entities almost always take the form of human beings, often people I know in my everyday life (family members especially). I have encountered many entities with DMT, but never once was one even remotely human.

The salvia experience seems oddly familiar in a way that the DMT experience does not. Parallel worlds vs. an alien immaterial realm.

Both substances are incredibly powerful, but salvia has never scared me the way DMT has. I’m never anxious or apprehensive when about to smoke salvia (and I use 20X), but I’m always apprehensive when I’m about to take DMT.

Well, that stuff I said about disgusting love was just an extreme example. Sometimes people just get high on their own realizations, but they usually come down, unless, as you say.... they are already the type of person prone to insist things upon people. All this isn't bad, it's just my experience that DMT gives profound realizations, while salvia mocks all my realizations, and tells me everything I thought I knew is crap. So, it's not that dmt in particular fills people with disgusting love, it's just that I find salvia lacks that property altogether. So, dmt by comparison, is a love fest.

i used to smoke salvia a lot actually.
i am quite sensitive to medicines so i was able to consistently "break-through."
in comparison, i can't say i ever really enjoyed a salvia trip....i was more just really curious for a far-out experience that was so short.
n the end, i stopped smoking salvia and never went back.
i have enjoyed a couple DMT experiences, but in the end, i've left smoking it behind also.

salvia just doesn't seem to be going in the right brain receptors for me to have
any valid opinion about what's happening to my fragile mind as it's crushing me.
DMT, while totally coherant at medium doses, gives a similar "what the hell is happening right now" feeling at high doses.
i voted DMT because i kind of understood some things it was saying a little bit at some doses.
salvia's in such a different dimension it doesn't even really exist to my little brain's feeble attempts at classification.
it is no mystery to me why salvia and DMT are always traditionally taken orally.
some things are better slower, drawn out, and trickled down: these two medicines being supreme examples, i feel.
only us westerners thought, "cool let's vaporize it! WoAHHHHHH." Shocked

I assume you mean that you used to smoke DMT a lot??? But anyway, many people, me included find Salvia on its own to be very confusing and random, this seems to be detrimental for any spiritual growth one might be looking for. In contrast to this, I find that with every DMT expirience I encounter, there are lessons to be learnt and that i feel spiritually better off after travelling. Also i find that I am left with a great sense of well-being.

Yes, this seems to be the case with a lot of people in the nexus unfortunately. Confused However I do believe the power of Salvia is unlocked when it is combined with Salvia. Have a look at My Thread on the combination of Salvia and DMT.
People spend their lives searching for perfect moments and fail to see, that there are many unappreciated perfect moments everyday that are overlooked.

Maybe I will stand alone here, but I vote for the salvia. I try to smoke/chew a little bit of salvia leaf every day, and it greatly enhances my mood and helps me form my thoughts and meditate. It also helps greatly with my headaches. I have always loved the feeling of energy flowing through my body from the salvia. DMT just does not bring me the same joy.

I used to think that DMT was the greatest healer on the planet, but it could not help me get past the depression that was holding me down. I wrestled with salvia many times before we came to a mutual understanding.

The visions from salvia can be tough at times, but I always find them much more deep then ayahuasca or smoked dmt.
The events that maxzar100 describes are only hypothetical, and never actually took place. maxzar100 has no link whatsoever to any illegal substance.

I won't vote because it's an apple and orange thing to me. It's like mushrooms and cacti: which one is the best healer?

From my perspective each of their own give you some healing or tools to grow up at their moment. You just need to be listening which one is the right one to use at the right moment.
I use to put salvia on the top list. It did a lot for me.

Now I feel more the call for spice although I easily put some salvia and other herbs in the mix.
As well you need to ask for healing for it to happen... well most of the time.

Just my 2cents...

The current vote is 19:1 for DMT. That says a lot about salvia. Are most people just voting for DMT because they don’t like salvia?

Have to go with DMT because I assume that includes Changa, and I have never felt anything so healing as my few Changa experiences.

with that said, Salvia opened up my creative side and inspired me to paint and to play music, It is also Good medicine, if used in a safe and respectable manner.

so for me , it was close, but have to go with the Dmt/Aya as far as that healing feeling Smile
Obviously everything the Shaman says is Hyperspace Hyperbole
