no its not 5-meo..
kambo = phyllomedusa bicolor
it is more of an ordeal poison than a psychedelic. The active principles seem to work on opioid receptors, and its no 'trip'... The indigenous people make little burns in your arms and they apply the venom there, and soon you feel really really bad, purge, your face swells, you think you're gonna die, and then it all gets better and you are happy to be alive (if you didnt die, because some people do...). Apparently it boosts the immune system and might have medical applications, but not much has been published in the wester world about it that im aware of..
be careful!

After I posted that I thought it might be that because I couldnt see any reference to 5meo, I remember hearing dennis mckenna talk about it.

I have done Kambo twice now, and although it is not exactly pleasant, it is powerful medicine. Cases of people dying are VERY rare. It does boost your immune system, and cleans your system out like nothing else I have experienced. Afterward you feel totally calm, grounded and serene. I will do it again!! Although, its not for everyone... I would only have it administered by someone experienced. It is used in Brazil to treat drug addicts, apparently with very high success rates. balaganist is a fictional character who loves playing the game of infinite existence. he amuses himself by posting stories about his made up life in our plane of physical reality. his origins are in other dimensions... he merely comes here to play.

I have done Kambo 3 times now, it is very powerful medicine (for me the 2nd and 3rd times were much stronger than the first). The short term revolting feeling doesn't last that long, although you do feel pretty odd. I think there might be something to the immuno-boosting effects, I didn't get any winter colds or flus this winter at all. Incredibly cleansing, grounding synergy with ayahuasca. Physical and mental clarity. I think its pretty safe, but should be avoided by those with heart conditions or blood pressure issues as has been mentioned.

Sources, Proof if you can read portuguese, look 'ademir tavares sapo' on google and you'll see this particular case, for example.. I cant find any info about previous conditions from this person that could have been the 'real' cause.. Im not saying that its common thing for people to die, but its not like our usual psychedelics with their established physical safety. The shaman I worked with in Brazil did this kambo application too and he also considered it of a different safety profile than the other medicines he worked with like ayahuasca and snuffs... Im sorry if I came out as alarmist, im just saying for people to be careful and do with someone that the knows what they are doing, as well as to make sure they have no prior health issues, and to know that its not like the standard psychedelics at all.. and better start low as always (I dont know how it was with you guys doing but they can make more or less burns depending and put venom according to the person, so better ask to go low at first) all the best to you people

And I hope I didnt succeed in minimalizing the seriousness of it. SWIM has been battling knee pain from torn ligaments and almost nothing ever seams to help. When SWIM did the kambo the next few days the swelling and pain were almost gone.
