I think this page talks about it.

http://www.biopark.org/ayahuasca.html

"It is incorrect, however, to characterize the Ayahuasca experience as merely an oral DMT experience activated by a beta carboline MAO inhibitor. The holistic processes at work are far more complex and it is unquestionably the ayahuasca vine which fuels the transformative power and profound teaching of the Ayahuasca experience."

I gottta get me some caapi!Smile

The healing and afterglow from pharmahuasca is nowhere near what the ayahuasca experience provides. There is unquestionably something to be said for holism and its definitely noticeable. I had an incredibly deep, healing, and informative pharma session, but i woke up the next day and had only what I remembered and chose to hold on to to guide me forward. With ayahuasca, i wake up an hour or two earlier than normal feeling well rested and reinvigorated and ready to go. That afterglow of joyous rebirth can last a day, or stretch on for several, depending on the type/strength of the brew. Aya is more effort to keep down and imo, a more involved process to make good quality than pharma, but the payoff is noticeably greater.

No, they are not "bad" or "good". They have their place.

To me traditional Ayahuasca, including the rituals (dieta, both physical and spiritual dieta's), brewing with intent, and BELIVING that Caapi hold within a benevolent spirit that has worked with humanity for centuries are all intergral parts of my Ayahuasca experience.

Pharmahuasca, Mimosahuasca, and even Phumahuasca are all variations off of the original Ayahuasca concept.

I have taken both rue and rue extract and xtal dmt. It is not the same experience, nor is THH+Harmine/harmaline + dmt the same as Ayahuasca. They are all different, but none of them are truly good or bad, they are helpful IF the consumer wants them to be. Even Aya will not always work her magic if the participant is not willing or unreceptive...

I dont like how brews with syrian rue have become "just an analogue" to aya..

Rue/Esphand to me is the ancient Haoma of the east..it has its own historical context from which it has come out of into the western entheogneic society..its not really an aya analogue any more than ayahuasca is a Haoma analogue..

All my work right now is with ayahuasca..I am utterly in love with ayahuasca..and want that relationship to deepen with time andlearn more about admixtures etc..so im not really interesting in pharma right now..for me aya is s female spirit..becasue thats what i personally experiences..and that spirit is the vine.

I am interested in working with rue based brews though in the future and learning from it as well..but not as a subsitute for ayahuasca..more as a spirit of its own with its own personality and techings.

Eventaully I believe that all things lead into one another..to that universal truth..but different teachers have different ways of saying things.

Long live the unwoke.

Rue, to me is a male spirit. He is less "guiding" and more about "showing" if that makes any sense. When I use rue and dmt I feel like I am being dropped off somewhere, not guided by the hand through heaven and hell, but shown things. He feels very, very old and very wise (but is less open with his wisdom), whereas Caapi's spirit, to me, feel vibrant and young as well as ancient. It is hard to describe but I've given it my best shot.

And you are right! Rue is its own spirit.

Rue = old sassy blunt time traveler
also feels way more toxic and harsh than aya vine (in this space ship)
plus it tastes like fermented vomitConfused

Yes! The caapi is magical, it is what you feel days after the trip. The vine gets deep in your blood and stays there for a while giving you clear-headedness, positive feelings, and an overwhelming sense of contentedness. It is better than an anti-depressant in that it has an initial subtle bright high that it gives followed by days of light. For pharmahuasca, I have been taking a pure 20X caapi extract and it is amazing. Unfortunately the only vendor of the 20X (Celestial Source) is out of stock right now so I am experimenting with making my own.

A simple water extraction by just making Caapi tea and very slowly reducing it will give you a nice 10-40x that can be reconstituted with just water. It works very well.
