Hey everyone,

I'm Dirtmaan, an apprentice ethnobotanist from France. I'm mainly growing things that appeal to me, wether it'd be for medicinal, cooking or even gazing purposes.

I've had a bit of success growing various extremophiles, mainly cacti and succulents, but i'm starting to branch out and gather more plants from the jungle. That might be a bit harder because rh around my house seems to be around 40-50% but you know what's being said, you win without glory if you fight without danger.

Always been more a number guy than a chemistry guy (even worse with organic chem) so some chemistry related topics might elude me, but i'll learn to power through them with time.

Usually i try to have an good time wether i use with friends, i try to steer our differents experiences to a good time. That should make me the "shaman" of the group but it's not a title i'm pursuing as i never followed an apprenticeship with a shaman, so i'd say i'm more of a friend who research his stuff and try to help others in their quests in life.

Anyway, here's a bit of my current collection of plants which i'm quite fond of:

- Monstera Adansonii
- Pseudolithos Cubiformis
- Trichocereus Pachanoi, multiple species
- Tephrocactus Geometricus
- Lophophora Williamsii
- Ariocarpus Furfuraceus "Prolifera", i think it's a monstrose mutant
- Scletium Tortuosum
- Neon Devil's Ivy
- Albuca Spiralis
- Albuca Concordiana
- Tillandsia Xerographica
- An assortment of aromatics
- Different succulents i've forgot the name of
- Soon i'll also have a Salvia Divinorum (to murder it again i guess), a Silene Capensis and a Calea Zacatechichi

If you happen to spot a mistake or some sentence that's not well formed, feel free to correct me! My english is alright but some criticism can't hurt Smile

Dirtmaan,

Great introduction, Very happy. I looked at your username with confusion then read your intro and was like alright Dirtmaan is here!

You sound like a good fit here.

It's not all about chemistry but there is definitely lots of opportunities to learn more about that and other topics.

Many of the teks here can be completed by anyone who can soberly follow directions, by someone who can follow a cooking recipe and product dinner.

Your list of plants is impressive. Would you happen to have any pictures you would like to share?

Again, welcome to the Nexus.

Pandora,

Thanks for the welcome!
Why would my username inspire confusion? Did we speak on another plaform? I've been using this pseudo for most of my life now ahah

I know that most teks can be completed by following directions, but what's the point of doing something if you don't have a basic comprehension, at least, of what's going on?
Like if you cook a quiche and run out of eggs? You're doomed to fail right? Well not if you know the sciency stuff behind. Becaus eif you do you can substitute the eggs with a chicken broth as it contains proteins and will coagulate like eggs when cooked!

Of course, i'll gladly attach pictures to this post Smile

1 - Monstera Andansonii
2 - Tillandsia Xerographica
3 - Neon Devil's Ivy
4 - Scletium Tortuosum
5 - Psudolithos Cubiformis
6 - Lophophora Williamsii
7 - Myrtillocactus Geometrizans cristata
8 - Tephrocactus Geometricus
9 - Ariocarpus Furfuraceus prolifera, i'm not sure about the prolifera term tho
10 - Trichocereus Pachanoi cristata
11 - Albuca Spiralis
12 - Trichocereus Bridgesii Monstrose, but it seems to be decaying and doesn't have a viable aerole Sad
13 - Trichocereus Peruvianus JOHN x Super Pedro
14 - Trichocereus Cordobensis
15 - Senecio Tallinoides, but a monstrose version?
16 - I really don't have a clue
17 - I knew at some point i swear
18 - Albuca Concordiana when it was flowering

I just thought your username seemed unusual but then read about your affinity for horticulture and it made perfect sense.

Those are some gorgeous plants! You have a very green thumb. Thank you for sharing.
