Thanks D.Rey! dg - The big ones on the right are pachanoi, the smaller ones in the cups on the left are bridgesii seedlings that are around a year or so old. Notice the longer spines on some of them. I'll upload a better picture of the bridgesii's tomorrow. I've also got a baby terscheckii (I think?) and a macrogonus (I think?) in there. I'd like to add some peruvianus to the collection sometime here soon but I'd prefer to get one of known quality genetics than take a crap shoot on buying one. Hopefully we'll find our way together sometime in the not so distant future. Convert a melodic element into a rhythmic element...

Yup I am. South of palm springs sounds about right to me. Was just camping south of Palm springs recently in fact.. real nice time of year to be around Anza Borrego.. probably going to make another trip in a week or two. Been reading lots about the paleobiology of the region recently too.. interestin stuff. Anyway, I'm sure you've been there yourself as you seem to be geology-oriented. Perhaps one of these days I'll run into you there.. hahah. Anyway, dont mean to derail the thread... Living to Give

Hey DG, in your fourth picture from the top in that last post there is this plant I need.
Next to the wood, on the right, second from the bottom corner area. It is really wide.
Keep track of that one for me, I am gonna want a cutting later. It is a really cool plant.

I've been drooling over this thread for ages, now I'm a full member I can post a few pics of my grafts. There's 2 pics (front and back) of each plant. We had a heatwave in January this year and these scions really suffered, I was a bit concerned about them for a while. On the hottest day we had, the mercury hit 49 deg. C. They all lost turgour and it looked like I could have lost a few for a week or so. They all bounced back and all they have to show for it is few wrinkles, which I think adds a bit character. All these grafts were done in the last 8 months, the bigger scions were approx. 20mm when grafted, but the others were seedlings less than a year old. Not as sexy as yours dg, but they are cute when they're little.
That one with the webs on it has a little spider that has taken up residence there, he's about 4mm across and I don't think he's doing any damage.
I have spotted the odd mite though, I like to examine them with a USB microscope/camera every now and then. When I see them I hit them with diatomaceous earth in a solution of water which seems to keep them under control.
