I actually delayed putting my cacti out for several weeks beyond the usual date this year because it was unusually sunny, and the mid to late spring sunshine can be surprisingly intense UV-wise what with stratospheric ozone depletion. In my view, an overcast day is preferable for introducing cacti to the outdoors. Interesting, too, to see that you've got a TBM graft on the go there. What stock is it sitting on? Kudos also to third-eye-open for a lovely collection. Those first two rows of TBMs all came from the one in the back left. I think they are short form since the majority of pups are pretty small, but I'm not really sure. I've only ever heard of short form and long form, but my two parent plants seem to be somewhere in between.
The grafts are both done to some PC Pedro. Got one more PC Pedro (not pictured) that will be used for grafting in the future.

I think the PC worked out well for grafting. Held the freshly cut TBM and PC together with three rubber bands over the top of the TBMs and looping to the PC's spines. Dusted some sulfur powder on the exposed cut areas and kept them out of direct light. Then two to three weeks later everything was good. I tried grafting to Opuntia's a few times too, but those didn't take. I've seen where people have been successful, but I'm going to stick with PC.

Wow, stunning cacti gardens here! This thread really inspires me to establish my own patch. I just got a beautiful Bridgesii cutting from a kind soul, which has proven to have a high alkaloid content. So yeah I got a baby garden that will hopefully grow into something huge .
