Any torch should work better. The difference is a torch doesnt leave black soot on the ceramic when applied directly like a lighter flame does, has better heat variability, and increased temp. Inhale while applying the torch flame to the ceramic. Heat ceramic while inhaling till it barely starts to glow, then control temp just before a glow by raising and lowering the flame distance to the ceramic. I'm still co-axing with my first GVG, and found that when the ceramic is too red too long, a very sharp accent?? comes in, and influences the travel not positively. And I suppose it isn't even burned spice (that is different), but something that comes from the glowing ceramic, some minerals or something, or perhaps some former soot that gets de-cocked? It all confirms your guidance fully to avoid a too red ceramic. I've the green label GVG where the ceramic lies deep in the top glass. Was the older version easier in having an eye on the ceramic directly, or was it also deep in the top glass?

When ive dosed larger doses with the gvg i heat the ceramic to a light glow, this helps to vaporize all the dmt before you run out of lung capacity. Haven't noticed anything strange when i do this and only one time did it appear to burn any (probably due to the person not inhaling fast enough). I mostly give the former advice to new users as it works and you will not burn any. Once you get the hang of it heating to a glow should be followed by inhaling faster. For now working mostly with only 15 on full maoi, and a simple classic lighter vapes it easily in one hit without pre-melting. My recent torch is erratic unless on big flame setting and thus overkill on the 15 when making the ceramic red. Waiting for my new torch lighter to get a more precise torch flame, should be at the door any day now. Hope it's going to give a fine and reliable flame.

I just received my GVG. And its beautiful. I hope I finally reached the Holy Grail of vaporisers. Anyway the guys from VG support told me that they are working on ceramic disk for GVG to vaporise liquids. Hope this will be the finale solution. I attach my brand new GVG Aha thx guys for this thread its awesome. I learned immensely! I use a cheap and brittle disc in mine now. It works great but I am going to eventually get something that doesn't come apart when handling. I only got it because it was sitting right in front of me at the head shop. litwin: that bag looks different from the one I got. If you blow into the top part of the gvg when it is clean/dry, it makes a whistle. "Sometimes I go about in pity for myself, and all the while, a great wind carries me across the sky."

I spent virtually an entire day reading this thread before deciding that I needed a GVG. I didn't like the price tag, but not a single post stated (after actually using the tool) that it wasn't worth the cost. And u also decided, based on these posts to get the hard shell case. So I just wanted to pipe in with my two cents now that I've got one--all the praise is real. You do need a reliable torch lighter (I'm still trying to find the right one) if you're using it outside, but it works like a charm and that case is perfect! I do need to figure out where to get those copper scrubbers though to use as a screen. All of my posts are entirely fictional. Chore boy can be found at fred meyer/kroger walmart and bimart. I use a small torch that is for soldering that i got at home depot. It has a stand so its easy to set down when its hot. "Energy flows where attention goes" [Please review the forum Wiki and FAQ before posting questions]

Hi all, swim recently bought a gvp and found my first few attempts resulted in spice melting and running into the pipe. It's was some old gooey spice so not a great test subject. swim bought some extra mesh's and tested it with about 20mg of fresh spice and was utterly amazed at the effectiveness. Some harmala's are extracting as we speak so i cant wait to test it out. thanks for all the amazing advice. PEACE

I have a question about the GVG for those of you out there who have a bit more experience with it. Firstly I'd like to say that I've used it a total of 4-5 times and it is not only as good as all the reviews above state, but it's MUCH better. You seriously cannot give enough praise to the GVG! That said, I am beginning to wonder if it's actually too efficient. Here's my point: When I take hits from a glass bulb pipe, I can hold them seemingly forever; it even feels good to hold them in. It's kind of like doing yoga where it is a strain, but it's pleasurable for some reason. When I hit the GVG however, I feel like I'm suffocating. It isn't harsh smoke AT ALL, and there's almost no taste, but there are a lot of vapors that come off of it, and my theory right now is that when I hit the GVG, I'm getting so much vapor that it isn't leaving room for air. So I'm filling my lungs with DMT, but no air, and then I can't hold in the hit. So I've been having to let out the first 1/3 of the hit and take in more air so I can continue to hold the other 2/3 for another 15-25 seconds. When I exhale, it's like a bellowing cloud, and I'm starting to think that I should adjust my technique to taking two hits--the first one will just be light, like maybe 1/4 or 1/3 of the product. Then let that out, and I'll hopefully be coherent enough that I can then take in what remains and still have some extra room in my lungs so that I can hold it a bit longer. So yeah... anyone had similar issues? All of my posts are entirely fictional. ScientificMethod wrote:That said, I am beginning to wonder if it's actually too efficient. no. just, no. -edit, ive now thought this threw properly i think it needs to be more efficient, its not nearly good enough, i want it to be so powerful that it has to be kept in a hyperbox, like this and the mere opening of the latch requires you to sit down for it has a tendency to dissolve the legs first. So yeah... anyone had similar issues? i think this will sort itself out when you get the set up right and your technique down. how much Magic goes in your reality disolver? INHALE, SURVIVE, ADAPT it's all in your mind, but what's your mind??? fool of the year

I really don't think that it's my technique. Could you point to something that you believe is leading to the problem? I load 20-50mg into the pipe, then I have a Bernzomatic torch lighter that I got from home depot (I like to trip outside and it's windy where I live, so this lighter doesn't blow out). I lower the lighter to the ceramic piece, pull as it glows orange, within 3 seconds the pipe fills with vapor, virtually no taste, and does not burn the throat at all. Please explain the problem with this technique. And yes, I'm okay with your placing the GVG into a magical cube that requires super-magic understanding to access and the user must be sitting. That said, I'm dealing with things as I see them presently. All of my posts are entirely fictional. It could be that you are slightly sensitive to the vapors, which i have seen in some people. You can lower the temp by inhaling faster but if i were you i would try reducing the heat applied a little. It works for me the way you do it but maybe make the ceramic "almost" glow rather than glow. Try that. I take a few very deep breaths prior to inhaling to get myself well oxygenated. I exhale the last breath, and then inhale the vapor. This usually works well. gibran2 is a fictional character.
