At first, after the first cyan patch, I started ignoring this thread out of sheer jealousy mixed with love and admiration... then I came back to it today, and may have ruptured some internal organs.

Where i live, there´s a field that used to have an abundance of p.semilanceata every year. Unfortunately, this eventualy became well known throughout the region and so many people went shroomhunting there (in the wrong way, by damaging the soil), that i haven´t seen a single cap there anymore for the last couple of years.Crying or very sad

Nice find CuriousKid!

Just spread them out on a screen or piece of cardboard, and let them dry. They will be bone-dry in a week or two. Then store them in a sealed container with a dessicant (the "do not eats" that come in new shoes - larger ones can be bought at a photo-supply house). You might pop that in the freezer for good measure. I would NOT put the fresh mushrooms in the freezer or you will have to defrost them into a gooey mess in order to eat them later.

They will stay good for years. If you dry them on a piece of cardboard, they will make nice purple spore prints. Then put that cardboard-with-spore-prints about two inches down in your garden border or under your Rhodedendrons and cover it over with alder chips and cross your fingers.

PM me if you have specific questions.

Curiouskid! RTFO! Thats what I'm talking about, Nexians representing! Nice little haul. Plenty there for several doses. I will get you some info in making a liquid innoculant.

semios is right on track with the proper way to start a patch using spore prints on card board. I know he has experience with it.

Great haul, good picture, and thanks for posting!

Thanks guys!!! They might be dosed on Friday night for the SHE or probably over the week-end, hopefully more are to be found shortly... They are drying on paper and your teck will be tested semios; I just put my hands on "Mycelium Running" from Paul Stamets which is a gold mine of informations, keep you posted.

See you on the other side ;-)

Where i live, several local shroompickers who have been picking for many years have been complaining about foreign seasonal workers who have ransacked our "feasts for all to enjoy"-By picking shrooms in organised "picking crews" of 5-7 people, each carrying away 1/2 a carrier bag full of cyans. Leaving mere crumbs for us locals.Mad

They're still coming up out there. I was amused by the motorcycle cop pulling people over about 100 yards from the patch in the woods that I cleaned up this morning. Nothing like picking cyans with red and blue lights in your peripheral vision. Looking forward to trying these 11/11/11 full moon friends.

Well despite the hard frost the other day, there are still a few cyans left out there. I met up with username semios this morning and we went out for some morning picking. Sorry no habitat shots but here is what I came up with. These are some BIG cyans.

enjoy

Whent for a walk this morning with my trusty hunting partner semios. It was a cold nasty rainy morning. I figured the season was all but over with. To my suprise semios and I found a nice patch or two of Ps cyanescens. The season is winding down. One more frost and its over. Nice to pick up a few more before the season comes to an end.

@semios- Thank you brother it has been a wonderful season and it has been great sharing it with you. I look forward to many a bountiful harvest in the coming years!

Enjoy the pics!

Check out this monster that's been hiding under the rhododendrons. I have scoured this area multiple times and this guy escaped my notice until today.

Thanks for a great autumn, Ice House.

Remnents........ Took my dogs out for a walk today. The cold dark Doug Fir forrest didnt feel so inviting.

The edble mushroom season was very short this year, or maybe it wasnt? Maybe I spent soo much of my free time out picking actives that I missed the Chaterrelles seson.

Toward the end of my walk........ Remains of what probably was a pretty good season.

Pictures attached, chanterrelles, Coliflower fungus, and Black Trumpets. All are very edible. All will be consumed with dinner tonight.

Enjoy
