Surrender to the things we do not control.

"I" am nothing but an awareness.
My personality is all condition from experience.

To identify with the constructs of the body is to lose sight of the self.
At first sight, The Perfection of Wisdom is bewildering, full of paradox and apparent irrationality.

"It is better to travel well than to arrive"

"Until he has unconditional and unbiased love for all beings, man will not find peace"

Best things i have ever been taught

I'm sorry but I don't want to be an Emperor - that's not my business - I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible, Jew, gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another, human beings are like that.We all want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone and the earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful. But we have lost the way.Greed has poisoned men's souls - has barricaded the world with hate; has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in: machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little..

Before I knew the line came from British Comedian Billy Connely my Grand mother had said it to me as a child, it's only very recently I found out it's true origins.

'Never trust a man whom when left in a room with a tea cosey, does not try it on'

the best piece of advice I have ever been given in my life.
One can drive himself to madness in the obsessing goal of reason, without the knowledge of love and laughter.

In the province of the mind what one believes to be true, either is true or becomes true within certain limits. These limits are to be found experimentally and experientially. When so found these limits turn out to be further beliefs to be transcended. In the province of the mind there are no limits. However, in the province of the body there are definite limits not to be transcended.-J.C. Lilly

It's incredible how much wisdom can come from so few words! Such a good thread!

"But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. The present moment, ultimately, is more than enough, a gift of grace and unfathomable value, which our friend and lover death paints in stark relief."

"dont be that guy"

A friend of mine is pretty big at the local music festivals around here. Idk how many you are familiar with this sort of scene, but those involved with it generally have theyre own way of dealing with things. For example, if you freak out or become violent you run the risk of being duck taped to a tree until youre able to collect yourself. This paticular friend happened to have a tee-shirt made specifically for her depicting some unfortunate camper duck taped to a tree. The caption below the image reads quite simply, "dont be that guy"

Another good one:
"dont feed the bears"
Using recreational drugs, including psychedelics, does not give you character points, it's not a means of fighting the system, it doesnt make you a shaman, and unless you actually get out and see the world - it wont give you any deeper insights into it. Can psychedelics bring about these qualities in a person? Yes, But they need fertile ground. What does this mean? Never stop filling youre head and never stop fighting. Otherwise youre just another wasted mystic sitting on your couch getting high.

you dont know youre on a leash if you stand by the peg all day

One does not need to be a chemist to perform an extraction. Don't worry about not understanding everything at first. Keep reading, inform yourself, take safety precautions, don't throw anything away before you're done with your extraction and don't consume anything you are not sure its clean. -dmt nexus
