So I have a classic VG and don't know if I'm using it right. Do I heat the ceramic first or just start inhaling as soon as torch hits the ceramic. The torch has a pretty decent flame and was wondering how close should I put it to the ceramic. You were totally right found my answer on the same page I just get hasty sometimes. However should there be any residue left with crystals on the screens or should it all be vaporized. Trying to make sure I'm doing this right. Also the past couple of times vaping the spice has made me stumble to the bathroom and vomit. When I was using weed sandwich method this didn't happen. Anyone else get this effect? Never vomited or even had nausea from the spice. Usually wait a couple hours after eating before traveling, but even when less time has passed between eating and traveling no nausea or vomiting. Ray

Last time I went I had a similar issue, I didn't throw up but I fought it for a good 20 minutes. Extremely nauseated and felt awful, I did eat a few crackers maybe 5-10 minutes before I vaped, I'm thinking that may have contributed to the issue, i'm really unsure of why i've smoked atleast 50 times without ever having any sort of nausea, i've been hesitant since to pick the pipe back up as the naseua was pretty intense. If anyone else has any experience with this or what causes it i'd love to know so as to make sure to avoid whatever causes it!

The vapor genie is such a huge innovation yet such a simple design...I'm considering working with some glassblowers to improve/modify the design as well as possibly some new ones. I use it for so many more things than the spice!

Ok so I finally got my technique perfect. I was using a layer of parsley and like 7 screens when I got the classic VG. For some reason this way didnt feel nearly as strong as my previous ash weed sandwich method. So I tried a different route with using a layer of ash with only 3 screens. And boy did this work. On the classic VG the ceramic doesn't light up until I start inhaling so I just get it nice and hot for a few seconds and then inhale slowly bringing the torch back and forth to the ceramic. I go back for one more toke but I don't even think I need to because I feel like I've vaped it all in the first hit. 30 mg has never brought me so far. I don't hear much talk about the classic VG so I wanted to give it a thumbs up. I haven't used the GVG but Id be afraid I would drop it easily just trying to put it down after a hit. If you are on a budget the classic VG is excellent but takes a couple tries to get it right because your spice isn't visible. Hey, guys. I recently bought a classic Vapor Genie and put a extra copper filter into it so the DMT wouldn't melt through. After getting the basics of how to use it I tried it out and it seemed to give me weak results. I was wondering if there is anything I could do to get the best results out of this. Thanks! So fortunate to have a website like this and grateful for what help i have received with the short time Ive been here

I have the classic vaporgenie and have no problems blasting off here is my method. First I put a few extra screens down to stop the dmt going through them and also i put a bed of herbs on top of the screens. I've used parsley before but I've moved on to mint these days Then I put my spice on top of the herbs and top back on the vg. Then place your flame above the genie start to inhale slowly getting gently faster. You gotta kinda judge it I can tell when the deemster is being vaped because i can feel it in my throat. At this point inhale all I can and hold it in for as long as I can normally between 10-20 secs. You should have no problem balsting off using that method

i have a regular vg but use now only for mj since getting the gvg, theres a huge difference in amount of smoke u get between the 2, but it is deffenitly usable. first only 2 screens might not be enough, usually should have 5 or 6 to keep the dmt from melting through so i usually used with some herb like mullein or pepermint. The regular vg can be tricky to get the technique down perfect which usually will take practice, esp with regular lighters. but i found torch lighters to get better results by placing it directly above the bowl about an inch or 2 away, light and inhale to get the ceramic filter cooking and about after 2 seconds pull it up few inches so doesnt burn. Inhale slowly but not too slow, after taking as much as u can with each hit count and hold in for 10 seconds..psyanara

I have both CVG and GVG. Even with 6 screens I got considerable melt through. The solution was a Choreboy, then I was able to get full intended dosage. With no Choreboy and even 6 screens I was wasting 200mg+ and only getting mild effects. Also, get a torch lighter, I ended up burning a lot of spice with a bic.

Yeah, I shoved two medium-thick pieces of choreboys in there and gonna purchase a torch lighter. Should be good to go

I am planning on getting the Sherlock GVG as soon as possible (probably within two weeks). I'm pretty sure it'll end up costing me a bit more with the customs fee, but in the end I'm actually glad it isn't even more expensive, considering the prices of some quality glassware. One thing I have noticed is that people seem to be somewhat divided on the choice of lighter to be used with GVG's. Most seem to be leaning towards using torch lighters, but the VaporGenie website specifically states that these should not be used since they could crack the glass. Could anyone elaborate on this? Is it just a matter of technique to safely use these torch lighters with the GVG? ॐ wrote:Is it just a matter of technique to safely use these torch lighters with the GVG? I use a torch lighter with the GVG, and everything is OK. What I can say is that I aim the flame at the ceramic filter, perpendicular to it, and barely lick the entrance of the top bowl with it. In dim lights it's easy to see how the ceramic filter starts to glow, and I take that as the hint to switch off the lighter. Maybe if you used a very strong lighter, and aimed it right at the glass, and the temperature of the GVG was low (or if you had terrible luck) you might crack it. I remember reading a report or two about that happening, but afaik that's very uncommon. "The Menu is Not The Meal." - Alan Watts
