"let those who have talked to the elves, find each other and band together" -TMK

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...
The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.” - Wendell Berry

I had one of the most amazing moments of my life on DMT this weekend with this song playing in the background.

Still a diehard Deadhead...

Even if you never got the Grateful Dead before, listen to this jam and tell me they were not one of the most fantastic psychedelic improvisational acts of all time. 11/4 time signature notwithstanding, this song cooks.
"Curiouser and curiouser..." ~ Alice

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." ~ Buddha

I have been slightly obsessed with that tune since i saw the movie "Drive" a couple weeks ago. That and Nightcall, which also has a cool 80's sound.

Anyone who hasn't seen that movie, watch it immediately. It's so good.

^^Great OST for great movie!
The Chromatics - Tick of the clock
One must see the movie to enjoy the music fully though...
It was hypnotic. After I left the cinema I just wanted to drive a car whole night with this album on.
And I fell in love with Carey Mulligan of courseVery happy

Ps: being a big fan of Nicolas Winding Refn's movies for years I can only recommend his 'Pusher' trilogy

I stumbled upon an artist named Stick Figure only a few months ago. Such a talented young man spreading great vibes and good reggae music! Feel the need to get this out there for others to listen. I cant get enough of it!

This one just makes me feel good to be alive:

And here is one of my favorites:

Definitely worth checking out if you are into reggae music. This stuff is different, more unique and has an awesome sound.

Thanksgiving is not quite here but i am sooo THANKFUL for music <3 Couldn't live without it.

During the song he stops and says this and it just hits me in that spot, it's a great feeling and your whole body tingles and sometimes it makes you cry not from saddness ofcourse only happieness, SRV was such an amazing human being it really sucks when we loose such talented artist, the ones that are trying to share the love and not just take your money b/c the real artist doesn't care for the money just getting everyone to move and to be yourself and break loose from the system for an hr or so and enjoy yourself, i just wish i could go to a show like stevies or jimi.

"you know it is a very strong day today,

its a very good day for all of us to remember a few things,

and go on with the rest of our lives knowing about em, and passing them around,

you know there is a lot love that goes on that we don't think about, until we need it more than ever,
cuz its gone.

Its up to us to carry on a few new rules,

like if we are going through our lives taking from each other, you can bet your life you are gonna give it all up in the end,

but if you go through your life giving all the time, that's all you have, you already had it, you gave it, you never had a problem,

and the guy that's standing on the ground that needs some help, you don't walk up and kick him if you are you better wear shoes for a while, cuz you know what trade places with him and he will pick you up,.... it's the truth

you better cast out as much as you can in your lifetime that's all we really have to give or accept, are you with me?"

"You are an explorer, and you represent our species, and the greatest good you can do is to bring back a new idea, because our world is endangered by the absence of good ideas. Our world is in crisis because of the absence of consciousness."
— Terence McKenna

not to be too predictable,
but here are 2 of my favorite Grateful Dead recordings, from the celebrated show on 5/8/77 ! Cool

this is the best 'Fire on the Mountain' that i'm aware of - transitions @ ~10-11:00
if anyone knows a 'Fire...' of comparable excellence please do tell! Surprised

We sail through endless skies
Stars shine like eyes
The black night sighs
The moon in silver trees
Falls down in tears
Light of the night
The earth, a purple blaze
Of sapphire haze
In orbit always
While down below the trees
Bathed in cool breeze
Silver starlight breaks down the night
And so we pass on by the crimson eye
Of great god Mars
As we travel the universe
