Seeing "his presence" as a great service seems to me a silly statement. His presence isn't what provide people with comfort, many other religions provide comfort with out the presence of "a great man" to aid in it's ability to ease people's fear of death. And your statement about your own families experience with living fruitful lives with religion compared to those that did not, without it, is not only a very isolated situation... but is ignoring other possible reasons for their suffering and anxiety. Your families experience with this does not discount the actuality of how people can and have had great long lives filled with happiness with out the need for religion. Dont shamans use ayahuasca to help them in battles and defeat other tribes?
