A relevant TM quote (or two):
Quote:
A language which could be seen would be a kind of telepathy. If you could see what I mean you would see my thought. The way we communicate, small mouth noises and the assumption of shared dictionary, an assumption that is never borne out by careful questioning, is a miserable way to communicate.

Quote:
I think language aspires to visibility, and that drugs like ayahuasca are allowing the people who use them to experience a kind of telepathy. It's not a telepathy of 'you hear what I think', it's a telepathy where you see what I mean.
Every day I am thankful that I was introduced to psychedelic drugs.

...except that I sometimes wonder, while gazing at the superdense linguistic substrate of hyperspace, if it's not the meaning we are getting first and the visuals being built based on that, rather than being the other way around, where the visuals are transmitting the meaning. While I'm experiencing it, either interpretation seems plausible.

So glad I created this thread. You all seem to relate well :]

Great posts!

A picture is worth a thousand words and a beautiful song strikes up the images of a hundred well told tales..

In my visions I have dreamed that one of the next levels of communication that goes beyond regular and cumbersome words is the language of music.

I would like to imagine a future where everyone understands the most complex nuances of musical theory and uses these skills in order to communicate in such a musically fluid and absolutely eloquent, (almost telepathic) way..... all of those unspeakable parts of the human experience that cannot ordinarily be conveyed using common words.

If every human being was able to express the inexpressible using music then perhaps people would be able to understand each other all the better.

It is well known in music theory that certain groupings of harmonies and rhythms are capable of invoking various predictable states of mood, whether that mood be happy or sad, melancholy or jubilant.

I suppose a decent analogy for this idea would be how birds use song to communicate to one another.

If music were language I'd be mute. I can listen to it but for the life of me I can not create it. I cannot keep a rhythm nor be creative with an instrument. *fail* I've had many years of musical training, piano, violin, flute, gitar... I never was good or even remotely adequate in any of them. I sincerely hope the next step in evolution is not music, otherwise I'm def. not getting there...

afaik singing comes before speaking.

i don't think it is the next step, it is just a current alternative.

imo Terence had the right idea with visual communication.

I actually think the next step will be telepathic communication: the evolution of the Hive Mind. Of course this would only work if privacy was respected and there were a two-party consent to "mind meld," to use a Star Trek term. And what is Science Fiction but Prophecy in action?

Fear, belief, love phenomena that determined the course of our lives. These forces begin long before we are born and continue after we perish. We cross and recross our old paths like figure skaters; our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.

When in the DMT "waiting room" I often get the word, "Purpoinq" I have no clue as to it's meaning.
