SWIM's heard of there being certain types of graters that powderize very well. He wishes he knew what kind.

Maybe something like a cinnamon grater.

What does the Mhrb in the lye bath look like? Ideally it should resemble a viscous liquid, i.e. no solid chunks or visible fibers. If it doesn't, your SWIM need not worry because the mix is still salvageable, and still full of spice. Your SWIM might want to take a suggestion from Lazyman's Tek: Use a (steel) potato masher to mash the Mhrb in the lye bath until there are no more solid chunks; do this without the naptha since you don't want to inadvertently make an emulsion. Then carry on as planned. Don't give up, keep us updated.

Also, ditto on the coffee grinder. That's the way to go.

Unfortunately SWIM dumped the mixture after he did his last pull When he said shredded he meant by hand. SWIM knew something was wrong when he was agitating the container and whole pieces were floating around. In a few days SWIM will do another 50g extraction and use his old blender to really powder that bark. What got SWIM worried was that he ordered from 100herb and he was reading some bad things about them in the vendor thread. He really hopes the bark is not bunk.
