What is the meaning of life? Options

We don't know. We can't know, not yet. Life it seems is like a great puzzle, a mandala, or a riddle. Maybe on the day we do figure it all out we will transcend this existence, but until then we're all just along for the ride.
"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here’s Tom with the weather."

The meaning of life? Mine is playing guitar and singing until my throat hurts. What's yours?

I think it starts out pointless and confusing, and through struggle, triumph and defeat, we find meaning. It's a path thats entirely different for each of us.

Big thumbs up on the Campbell quote.

for me the meaning of life is the cosmic quest for knowledge. to know. with knowledge of purpose we become content. we can focus. in the content we find happiness by being able to see the beauty presented to us from this neutral place of content. so for me the meaning of life is to constantly search for the answer to that very question, and be forever content in never finding it.

The meaning of life is to not seek the meaning of life as the meaning of life will do nothing but distract you from the meaning of life.

For me 'What is the meaning of life?' is the answer to the question itself. By that I mean
'What?' = the meaning of life. To question, and so investigate and thus experience.

Ahh, what curious language.

What is the meaning of life....?

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/meaning
To answer one must know the meaning of the word meaning.
It comes down basically to intention, and generates the alternate question, what is the intention of life?
Of course the answer is your own intention, for life has none but this.

The question here is or what is the purpose of life, because purpose and meaning are not related.

In my limited understanding...
The meaning of life can not be explained in simple words...
Since the physical world is full of ..[illusion].. humans have and are limited in their capacity to understand truth..
But doing the best we can ..we can only make judgments based on the model of the life reality we live in ..and the rules and regulations that our parents and society installed in us since birth..
There are many worlds within our world that in ..[a normal mind state].. we can not see..
For the world equals our life..and our life equals our world..
The meaning of life may be more explainable through [emotion and mind symbols] than simple words..
[although words are linked to symbols in our minds .the truth about life exceeds most human understanding..]
Emotion is the language of the human mind ..a language that started many many life times ago ..
The words of emotion go far beyond the human language of today...........
[have you ever had an experience you couldn't put into words? ]
There are other life forms .[energy beings of light] .which i have had contact with during lucid and non lucid dreams..
These beings are our guardians and watch over us through life ..so I'm not surprised at the claim of other worldly beings experienced in DMT and salvia trips..
The true meaning of life must come from an understanding that's far above the ability's of the human mind..
The eternal ageless dance of life is too beautiful and age less to put into simple words..
Its just always been there.. and always will be there!..

The meaning of life? super-simple stuff people:

Drink beer with right hand, balance left arm on your battle axe, tighten belt to pronounce beer belly, and have a half-decent lassie resting her tits on your face but not so that it makes drinking a challenge.

But what if you're left handed? Is it cool to drink beer with that hand instead? Just want to be clear cause I don't wanna screw anything up.

No, beer has to be on the right hand regardless or right- or left- handedness; that is the orthodox way of drinking (go figure). Just like you shake with the right hand even if you're left-handed; you raise the left fist even if you're a right-handed revolutionary or you rise right hand even if you're a left-handed nazi.

Definitely beer on the right hand therefore, please do not mess this!

personally, i think the most accurate (which is by no means entirely accurate) way to put it into words is "to create".

you are a flower, your purpose is to blossom. everything you need is within yourself, and you are probably going to do it anyways no matter what.

a few times on psychedelics i've pondered this question and been told things along the lines of "love, laughter, and doing the cosmic dance into infinite" ...although it wasn't really in words, more just rotating/evolving-synesthesia-idea-complexes

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

For me the meaning of life is being able to make up a positive balance , in the end. Forgot the exact number, but quite a high percentage of people make up a negative balance in their last hours. They have the feeling they did not live their own life, but that from others. And that would really suck.

Think my core building blocks are: Authenticity, unconditional love, caring & positivity, but making up the balance now would not yet be satisfying enough, i guess. Have to try harder, choose deliberately and listen to my heart only!

choose your future, choose life Smile

"Experience". ...To feel pain and pleasure to feel love and hate... and reach a deeper understanding of these experiences as they are experienced.
Ultimately to realize enlightenment.
That is just my conclusion.

I see all of life as conscious aspects of a greater Multiverse. I personally see that Multiverse as conscious in a way we may never understand. Life is the Multiverse discovering itself, and I believe positive individual experiences should be our goal. We must learn to love ourselves, and then one another, to survive, to take care of each other, and then thrive. Perhaps later on we will discover a better goal, but for now, this is our purpose.
