datura is not really a psychedelic, its more of a delerient and a poison, but at lower doses it makes one trip, scopolamine is just evil, it isn't called the devil breath for nothing!

Erowid is FULL of painful datura experiences.

Anyone thinking of trying datura, brugmansia and / or atropine alkaloids should really read and do their pre trip research on these substances. I suggest one doing 5 x the research that one would normally do for any new psychedelic before jumping in.

I sure do hope that this is a troll thread. I remember a datura phase in my home town several years ago. It was all over the news. A kid would eat a bunch, flip their wig, get hospitalized.....then other kids would think; "Whoooaaa dude, that sounds kewl!" eat a bunch, flip their wigs, get hospitalized.......and then it would repeat. ::shakes head:: I did my own research on these substances when I was a teenager, and nothing I read screamed out "hey this sounds like fun!" to me, so I stayed far away. I can't help but feel that if our society was more open to altered states the number of people engaging in stupidity with drugs would decrease dramatically.

Hate to say it, but if this is a legit post.. that question has been answered!

Very true, but they (powers that be) don't want to change the status quo, they don't want better educated substance users, they don't want substance understanding leading to harm reduction.

Why not?

IMO 2 reasons why :

(1) Allowing people to get high isn't good for a strong economy (in their eyes at least) they believe, that overall, people would work less, pay less taxes, contribute less and play more. The would not buy into the 9-5 tick tock society so easily like they do now, in the 60's people wanted to help each other and love each other more than they wanted to work hard and do well in an established and in essence *controlled by the powers that be* system.

(2) Allowing people to experience psychedelics will lead to much more independent thought, challenging accepted beliefs and social norms and an overall none acceptance of the status quo, banking crisis, global debt, wars, abuse of power, unfair drug detention (mandatory minimum sentences for example) ...

So they wont change, unless pushed by the masses.

I believe that the teenagers of today, born with the internet and much more access to information will be the change we want to see. But I do not believe it will happen now I think it will come in about 20 - 30 years or so...

if he made it to the hospital, he should be ok cops wise, unless they do their usual shit and try to say he has taken something else and use that for justification for holding him.

Datura is some crazy shit, I have read so many reports on erowid where it has gone bad, some guys on that stuff really do have a terribly hard time.

did you read the one where one guy ran off after seeing the spirit of the plant come for him, was running naked through thorns and woods for miles and was picked up by a woman (I think she was a social / psyc worker) who seen him running down the street naked, she took him to the hospital.

another exp report where one min the guy is round a camp fire then the next the guy runs into the woods with a hatchet attacking spirits / entities that he now believes he has to kill!

I think ill pass on datura!

Datura... something I'll never ever ingest. I've read some scary things. Hallucinations on deleriants seem too real. It's like being crazy and dreaming awake. I only know this because when I was younger I stayed at a friend's house and took a bunch of benedryl for the dph in it. I didn't take a high dose, but still it was enough for me to not want any more of that kind of stuff. His bedroom door appeared super tall and skinny and I kept bumping into walls while trying to go piss. I swore I saw his mom in the middle of the night smoking outside the window but nope, she was in bed. The headspace was not euphoric in any way. It was just too weird and dark.

Now datura... that's a whole other level. Really really really hope this was just a troll post. I feel for the person if this was real, but I really think he's an idiot. If he survived and didn't do too much permanent damage, I'm sure he will never touch any more drugs. Or maybe he will because he's just that ignorant...
