SWIM premeasures how much Naphtha he will need for his pull in a glass measuring cup. SWIM then puts the glass measuring cup containing Naphtha into the hot water bowl and lets the Naphtha get WARM. Once it's warm, then SWIM pours it through a funnel into the MHRB mix.

SWIM did that but the water in the bowl got to room temp within a few minutes and the naphtha still wasn't warm. Anyway SWIM needs help choosing a container. All the HDPE containers he's seen are tall with thin necks. Because of this, he can't stick in his syringe/hand to get the solvent out. And SWIM is afraid of using glass b/c he thinks it might break if he rolls it on the floor or puts it in a hot water bath. Any suggestions?

SWIM told me she put a 2 gallon pot on the cooker with about 1- 1 1/2 gallons of water in it and bathed the bottle of Naphtha for about an hour. Just don't shake the naphtha can. SWIM doens't have the exact temperature. If SWIM can put their finger in the boiling bath of water for only a few seconds... the water temp was good to go.

It shouldn't get to room temperature in a few minutes if the water is pretty much boling temp. SWIM has always did this and in about 5 minutes or so SWIMs glass meauring cup w/ the naphtha is very warm to the touch. And the container with the HOT water is still very hot/warm to the touch even after the 5 minutes.

SWIM does his extractions in a crock pot which keeps everything nice and hot without having to worry about water baths or direct heat on the naptha. It really works well and is very easy.

This post will conclude SWIMs extraction method. Not much has changed. Baby jars suck and SWIM will be buying shot glasses next. It's hard to scrape off addition spice in baby jars. Also after each pull, SWIM lets the 50ml of Naphtha air evaporate for 1-2 hours before placing it into the freezer for 12 hours.

Here is a pic of SWIMs last pull. 630mg. There is about 50mg he needs to scrape from 8 coffee filters and 100-150mg left in 8 baby jars. They are air drying at the moment. So, approx 800mg from 100gram rootbark. Very happy! It is off-white... but not yellow enough to call for a recystalization.
SWIMs favorite smoking device is shown. Test tube vaporizer. Anyone looking for an effective method... this is the way to go! Test tubes cost around 26-50 cents and a torch will run you 10bucks.


It's been 2 week since SWIM last blasted off. Nerves have already set-in. Blast-off in 8 hours.
