"The best thing about smurfs is they grow where they are. No matter what situation they are in they grow"

My father told me this when we were have a very serious conversation about moving on in life and going to college. He said it was the best advice he ever gotten. Apparently my dad's boss told him this advice before my dad was promoted for the first time.
Be a simple kind of man - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I try, imperfectly, to do so.
Images of broken light,
Which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on...

Just be yourself
Toadfreak!

Travel like a king
Listen to the inner voice
A higher wisdom is at work for you
Conquering the stumbling blocks come easier
When the conqueror is in tune with the infinite
Every ending is a new beginning
Life is an endless unfoldment
Change your mind, and you change your relation to time
Free your mind and the rest will follow

"Our entire much-praised technological progress, and civilization generally, could be compared to an ax in the hand of a pathological criminal." - Albert Einstein

that may seem like just a statement to you, but the advice in that is gtfo while you still can. you won't be able to depend on techno-industrial daddy forever.

Aye, good ol' Socrates. This has been the greatest advice I've gotten through psychedelics. That life is something complex and magnificent so much beyond our comprehension and that all the little things we worry and argue about are better laid at rest. The most incredible mystery is right in front of our eyes yet we all see ourselves as little gods declaring what "is" and what "isn't."

One really immersive experience i had, i tried to get a group of like 7 people to focus on one spot and meet there...

Lesson learned (although it was a pretty adventurous idea):

"It was childish to think i could control where i was going"

We obviously didnt meet on the top of that cold snowy mountain on a bright day, lol but it was so far my best experience, 1st entity met. Pure love.
"Hardonfordrums" does not exist. All information given out by this character can not be trusted, nor taken truthfully. Simply she is a complete and utter fairy bitch who tries to be "informed".

Carry it around all the time in my head, I cant save humanity. All I really can do is to be the best of what I can be. I cant carry the weight of humanity on my shoulders

It's a very helpful touchstone, especially in turbulent times.

"Changes come.
Keep your dignity.
Take the high road.
Take it like a man.

Changes come.
Life will pound away
Where the light don't shine, son.
Take it like a man."

- MJK

No direction but to follow what you know,
No direction but a faith in her decision,
No direction but to never fight her flow,
No direction but to trust the final destination.

Some great advice in here. A number of my favorites are present.

Quote:
All I have is now

Quote:
Don't out-wait or allow nonsense, it knows no bounds.
When nonsense is spouted make them think again.

Quote:
I think, therefore I am

And in the spirit of MJK:
Quote:
I am therefore I do
Explore, I am the Weaver
I do therefore become
A seer and believer

Quote:
Some laugh, some weep, some dance for joy.
The inner soul is full of joy. Reveal my secrets and sew me whole. With each day, "I" heeds your call.
You may not care the slightest and may not be the brightest, but from here "I" sees you're mighty for you created it all.

And the jumbling sea rose above the wall.

Through this chaos comes the order you enthrall.

These may seem like variations on themes already touched on here:

"Responsibility equals freedom" (From my dad... Took me another 20 years to start grasping that one)

"It's better to regret something you did do, than didn't do..." (Butthole Surfers)

"Regret is nothing but a hole in your balloon." (LSD seraphim)

"There's nothing wrong or egotistical about being your own favorite artist. After all, shouldn't we each be trying to make art that appeals the most to our own tastes?" (Xavi)
