How do cops react to public joint smoking ? Are there random searches performed ? If drugs are found, are the drugs confiscated ? Do you get a fine ? etc.

I don't know for sure what to tell you, I don't live in Czech Rep. I used to knew Prague very well in 90ties. These years I'm just visitor there.
But Czech Rep. is really liberal toward 4:20. It's not like you can smoak publicly but you pretty safe there within the law set amounts. Law guarantee no criminal charges. Although things could get confiscated in the name of public disturbance and so on, I guess...
Prague still has great nightlife and 4:20 subculture is part of it. Bill to legalize medical marijuana was already proposed and has a real chance to pass.

This 'turist guide article' seem accurate, but I didn't read it whole.

Edit: I just read a bit of it and article is old. 'small amount' is set by law now. Otherwise accurate give or take.

The UK is quite relaxed if one is caught possessing cannabis. They usually just take it off you and send you on your way. I had an ounce of White Widow taken off me and the cops didn't even take down my name. I think they smoked it.
