Olympus,

Yeah its funny how the urge just stopped. However, most of the best days of my life were spent up on those high cliffs. The solitude and intensity of those moments are one of a kind.
Is that Smith Rock in the last picture? Monkey Face?

cheers to that brudda, base jumping has taught me so much about myself and human nature. ive had incredible moments and adventures with some of the most unique characters imaginable. whether sneaking onto roofs of 700 story high rises on the vegas strip, or scouting an un jumped cliff and being the first to jump her! its been an amazing ride.

ive also seen horrific accidents and have had friends die in my hands in the field. although some memories still haunt me i wouldn't trade any of them. its all part of my goal of really living and experiencing LIFE! as much as possible.

im stoked so many people have posted their passions. its quite exciting to see!!! thanks everyone.... much love to you all.

Music playing! Recently my passion is the Irish Flute. Beautifiul instrument!

I've played the Tin Whistle for many years, completely self-taught, and have been saving up to get myself some Bagpipes. I've always loved Irish/Scottish music. The neighbors are going to love me when I get some pipes! Laughing

I also play the guitar, bass guitar, and piano.

Oh! and cooking which consists of mainly traditional italian and asian fusion foods. I like the science that you can use with cooking also.

Another great passion of mine: food Very happy I love cooking and experimenting with different flavor combinations and styles. There is some science involved when you really start to think about it, as well as an art form. I've worked in restaurants for many years of my life as well. Food is something universal that pretty much everyone enjoys I think, and I get great satisfaction from cooking for other people, and myself as well.

Another hobby of mine, well I would say it's in the realm of obsession at this point, is exercise and weightlifting. I was one of those fat kids growing up, teased incessantly, so keeping fit is very important to me now.

Besides those, the other hobbies which many of us share here. Mycology, growing plants/botany, alkaloidal/herbal extraction, entheogens, lucid dreaming/astral projection, etc.

Vibarancy,

Tripping aand Canoeing! That truly sounds like a noble path.

Olympus,

Base jumping is crazy! I am grateful that it is not my cup of tea. I have some interest in sky diving one day, more to challenge my fear of it than anything else. But Base Jumping is a little too much for me, I might just black out and fall off the edge. You definately know a feeling that few others will ever experience.

I like the eclectic mixture of passions here! Very cool. Smile

I think variety is the spice of life...I enjoy travelling, mind expansion, growing things, nature, wildlife and pets, walks, sitting round a fire, writing, exercise, food (cooking and eating it), sleeping, star gazing, films, experiencing music, science, history, thinking, dreaming, playing the djembe and didgeridoo and generally having fun and connecting with people. Am learning fire staff at the mo and post uni really want to learn scuba diving, and at some point a sky dive is definitely on the cards. Really enjoy what little canoeing I've done and something I want to get into more.

Sun Dappled Moments

Lush green grass swoons and sways in the breeze
Time lies in wait yet ceasing to exist
My glance towards you cut only by the dappled light

Shimmering shivers, dew drop puddles of sweat dancing down my neck, as the wind licks my skin
My heart skips a beat for you

Your words nurture my ears with their luscious hum
Butterflies pupate within my stomach, while you breathe in the clouds and the sky

These sun dappled moments that once were, will always be, the glinting memories
Which will eternally wonder the most intimate parts of my heart and mind

I play musics. (mandolin, guitar, bass, banjo, some piano, and sing)

I longboard. (FWEE!)

I love to hike & swim.

I love entheogenesis and I've just recently started getting into gardening, with lots of desire to grow cactus & other psychoactives..and fungus. Very interested by mycology & sustainable living. Also quite interested in psychology, quantum physics, chemistry, history & international culture & art. (although I don't know much of any of them.)
And finally.. my biggest passion that i've been IGNORING lately...

Olympus - I grabbed the pics online, but thanks Smile

Yeah, I work for an artist in the field of interactive media, we make installations in museums, festivals, etc. Those first two pics are actually of some of our installations. It's a lot of fun, and a lot of work. And now I'm studying business, I'm pretty much the odd one out in the class, but we'll see where it takes me. They really like money, these humans Smile

Wow.... I once jumped out of a plane on liberty caps, but it was not a realy large dose. I think i should be doing some more of that because it was quite extatic. Even when i had landed, i still felt like i was flying for a couple of hours.

My greatest hobby is improvising on the piano. It's one of the most therapeutic things there is.
For some reason i'm very sensitive to music...i'm one of those people who start crying when they hear beautyfull music. Don't know why that is but it just keeps happening. Even in social situations, kind of embarassing sometimesEmbarrased
I also tend to forget everything around me once i start dancing on music.

But the thing that realy makes me very happy is visiting my sister who gave birth 20 months ago to these amazing twins. The thing with childeren is that you just almost automatically start caring for them. The enthousiasm with wich they greet me...even if i visited them the day before they still greet you like they haven't seen you for a year or soLaughing . And it's just amazing how fast they grow and learn things.

Like when you are watching a film that is beyond complete shite and then a few notes on the score come out of nowhere and makes your eyes a little watery?

I get that.

I swear I've watched some dreadful films and walked out thinking they were amazing just because the music was rather touching.

Glad to know I'm not the only one! It's actually the reason I've always wanted to learn to play the Bagpipes. Certain melodies played on the 'pipes can have me weeping like a child Very happy

I always wanted to learn the Uilleann pipes, but they're so expensive and I find it hard to invest in something I know fuck all about.

Beautiful sounds all the same.

That's basically been what's kept me from getting some bagpipes all these years. I have no one I know to teach me how to play them, and they're really expensive (even a used set). I think lately I've made the decision to begin to invest in many things I know fuck all about Very happy I enjoy teaching myself about things. It feels like more of an accomplishment somehow Laughing

@Olympus,

I'm curious to know how you got introduced to base jumping, and where would be a good place to learn about it. Seems like the kind of thing you wanna get right the first time.

I like horticulture, hiking, kayaking, and I also enjoy shooting. Been getting very interested in rock climbing lately. I have only done the kiddy indoor stuff before, but it was still pretty fun, and great exercise, my muscles were sore for about a week after.

nice thread! I always find it interesting to get a little insight into Nexians. I spend so much time reading some peoples posts that you sometimes feel you know them a little already! Like a lot of people here, it seems, I like spending time doing stupid and dangerous things. This is us carving it up somewhere we really shouldn't be.
