So I had a thought. Suppose when we trip into these other worlds of fantastic visions, machine elves, squishy love tentacles, and the like, that there is an exchange. We bring back great inspiration and fantastic things we turn into art, but maybe that is just mundane life there. Maybe to the beings there, they take images from me about my/our world they find fantastic and bizarre, which to me is just mundane life.

Here is one I have worked on a few weeks. It's for a fellow nexus member. I worked with them to make this tattoo design. Came out pretty cool!

That's great- a really cool mix of biology and geometry. For best results as a tattoo, go large! You planning on coloring it?

Discovered this artist from fb. I told him I would spread the word (and he gave me the ok). I really like his stuff. He goes by "Dela Artist".

I am completely convinced that there is a wealth of information built into us, with miles of intuitive knowledge tucked away in the genetic material of every one of our cells. Something akin to a library containing uncountable reference volumes, but without any obvious route of entry. And, without some means of access, there is no way to even begin to guess at the extent and quality of what is there. The psychedelic drugs allow exploration of this interior world, and insights into its nature. - Shulgin

Thanks, Guyomech!

Well, I won't be coloring it. I did the drawing for the person to go to a tattoo artist later on. I'm not sure if they are planning on getting color.....

Yeah, I found out how tricky it was to get the level of detail needed on the size of my paper. I have a good set of pencils, but I really haven't used graphite much lately. My two latest pads of paper are down to only a couple pages each, so I'll be off for supplies soon!

I do like how it came out. I actually haven't worked too much with patterns, but I think it does help create a good balance.

That's great, I love the energy and mood of it. Really clever how you took the geometry and color all the way down to the most basic.

Welcome back, BTW. Be sure to check out this thread: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=37897

That is awesome! You made it so simple, and yet I can look at it and say, yes that is tripping. Is that what women look like when tripping? I wouldn't know, I've never been around a female psychonaught.

Edit:
I didn't mean simple, I meant minimalist.Wink

Here's the latest in my abstractions. I wanted to try and capture this smooth glassy pane like feel of a trip I had.

This, along with all of my other stuff, looks so much better in real life. I really need to do something better than my camera phone. Just thought you all should know that!

That's great Mr. P, probably my favorite so far. Definitely hyperspatial. The use of perspective, and the way the coloring is centered where all the perspective lines converge, give a great sense of exaggeration to everything.

I'm going to continue encouraging you to explore working on a tinted surface, either black or some other color. Works like this piece are really well suited to that...

#258 Posted : 11/5/2012 5:02:21 AM
Thanks Guy! I basically wanted to take perspective by the balls on this one.

What type of tinted surface do you recommend? Would I lay a base coat of something over the paper? I did intend to make this one a bit darker. I think it would have come out better on a black base.

I've been away for too long, you guys are putting out great art up in here! I'm getting left in the dust, I really need to start drawing some stuff and posting it up here.

Peabody, I really like that last one as well. Reminiscent of Escher only more futuristic.
