Thanks parshvik! Does that mean it would be safe to vape the resulting freebase?

Also, I wanted to double check that my Premium Zippo fluid would be a suitable source of naptha for say, using Thick-light's tek with ACRBSmile Seems to evap with no residue, but has anyone else used it?

yes, people vape the freebase they extract with lye. you do want to make sure you clean up as much lime as reasonably possible, but if you can't get 100% you will still be fine (i always feel uneasy about using lye for this kinda thing, i could never get all the base out of my product)

if you are going to use a foodsafe base such as this (or NaHCO3/Na2CO3) you can save all your liquid, rather than discarding it (After you decant however many times), and evap it.

there will be some goodies you missed, and you can use water to wash it (it will dissolve the lime but not the leftover goodies) a ton of times to clean the base off(admittedly a lot of work for a little yield, but an option nontheless).

I'm not in front of it so I dont have the brand name, but check art supply stores for limonene. I found it in small bottles (at art store prices) in portland. In the brush cleaner section
I believe its something like 90-someodd percent d-limonene, and the rest is listed as aliphatic hydrocarbons, which to my understanding, would be perfectly fine. (then again, dont go by MY understanding!)

Okay, I have a couple more questions:

Is ascorbic acid okay to use for acacia boils(for a/b extraction)?

and will naptha(premium zippo) get the majority of dmt and nmt, or can I use another solvent for later pulls to get everything else out of the basified solution?

i would imagine ascorbic is perfectly ok, the point of an acid boil is lower the ph to help lyse the cells, so i cannot think of why it would not work..

also you can pull with limonene or xylene after you pull with naphtha to get "jungle dmt".

Thanks for the answerSmile I'm currently freezing and re-freezing a kilo of acrb, and I hope to get lots of nmt as well as pure spice out of it. Fingers crossed!

hello all, first actual post here.
my friend's cousin's sister's boyfriend is having problems sourcing materials
its hard to get lye and citric acid where he lives
he likes full spectrum extracts, especially flaky orange extracts, like shaggy's tek
question is, if he used vinegar and lye, as per q21's tek, would there be any issue in using toluene as the solvent?
Q21 mentions its rather important to use only the materials he suggests
anyway, the dude's considering just doing shaggy's tek, using instead only vinegar to go to ph 4 and lye to bring it to above 12.5.
if toluene is possible to be used, are there any further steps he should take beyond evaporating the toluene off after the pull from the mixture?

what should i tell him, should i ever see him again?

Is "Naphtha solvent 0.91g/mL Technical" OK to use? How does it differ from "normal" naphtha? I have a friend who can get this from work. Thank you.

Edited to add:

Technical is the brand name i have just found out!. i have attached the composition of this. i have searched through the forum and on sites linked to but i am non the wiser. if someone more informed than i could give it the once over i would be very grateful.

Thank you.

It seems that it's mostly light aromatics which is good and can be freeze precipitated, however it says that it can contain 2% to 25% of heavier alkanes which are a bit hard to work with because they will not be easy to freeze precipitate or evaporate.

I would get a sample and do an evaporation test on a glass surface.

Thank you for the reply ymer. There is quite a lot of information on what solvents contain on here or linked to. What i couldn't find is an explanation on what i should be looking for. The information you have given me has made it a bit easier to make a more informed selection.

I wouldn't use it:

Contents:

KEROSINE - UNSPECIFIED - DISTILLATES (PETROLEUM), HYDROTREATED LIGHT - 70-90%
D-LIMONENE - 10-30%
NONIONIC SURFACTANT 085/086* - 1-10%

KEROSENE is mostly heavy petroleum distillates, you don't want this because it won't evaporate easily. AND IT's TOXIC

D-LIMONENE is only max 30% on that product.

NONIONIC SURFACTANT is liquid soap.

The only material I have left to get is the lye, which I am about to buy from Amazon. Before I actually do that though, I want to get some feedback. It's called Rooto Corp. 1030 1 Lb. Drain Cleaner With Lye, and says it's 100% lye, but I wanted to verify by seeing if anyone has purchased this brand before. I looked for an MSDS on google, but none came up.

Good working stuff on the shelf of supermarkets (Colruyt, Spar, and I presume other stores that sells Cerebos salt), besides the salt, less than 3 euro for 400 grams. Heated in oven to make sodium carbonate, works wonders.

"2-Methylpentane is a branched-chain alkane with the molecular formula C6H14. It is a structural isomer of hexane composed of a methyl group bonded to the second carbon atom in a pentane chain."

The only info i have found on 2-Methylpentane in relation to DMT is on the wiki here In the Isomers section.

Also in the toxicity section there is this.. "Therefore, the food oil extraction industry, which relied heavily on hexane, has been considering switching to other solvents, including isohexane (2-methylpentane)"

Question is does 2-Methylpentane behave exactly like Hexane (reference the above statement) and can i use it when working with MHRB?

Thank you.
