Hello guys, i hope you all started good in the new year
I sadly have to open another topic again.

The vaporizer i bought not so long ago unfortunately doesn´t work for me and
the GVG isn´t avaible so i want to give dabbing a try.
Since i dont have experience with dabbing at all, i hope that some of you, who have some experience with it, could help me choose from one of the 3 oil rigs i found in a cool webshop.
I will link them a bit down below.

My major goals why i want to buy a oil rig are:

To be able to inhale all of the spice very quickly.
Take one or two very big hits of the spice and not more.
Maybe see the vapor a bit to be able to roughly estimate how big of a hit i will get.
More controll over the process in comparison to my closed
electrical vaporizer.


Here are the 3 oil rigs which i think qualify.
The all have a male joint.
I read that this is better, because the glass may crack, if the nail is´nt carefully heated and a female joint is used.

Which one of them do you think should i get?
I definitely like the first two of them.
My number one priority is to be able to get one or two massive hits of spice in as little time
as possible.
Hit it, lay back, hold in as long as possible and yeah be hopefully where i want.
I absolutely don´t want to have to take a lot of small hits like i have to do now with my
electrical vaporizer because this just does not works for me and i do´nt want to waste any
more spice with

The all are different sizes with the shortest being only about 12.7 cm in height.
I plan on using it together with a quartz banger a fitting quartz insert and quartz banger cap, because i think that it is easier for a first timer like me.

Does the height of the oil rig matter and is a small one better for spice ?
I also read somewhere (reddit maybe) that some people dab without using water in their oil rig, do you recommend that or is that nonsense?




I also could get a titanium nail grad 2.
Would a titanium nail be better for me?
I am worried about the learning curve that might be bigger with it.
I think titanium nails can be overheated and get to hot in comparison to a quartz banger that can´t.

I am sorry if i asked to many question in such a short period of time and am a bit anoying
I just really don´t want to spend more money after this for a while , so i need something that finally works.

Here is the rig I use for smoking oil. I've used it daily for multiple years, bought it after I broke the third consecutive glass oil rig, I wanted something durable. And so it is. Fair warning: the one and only time I tried dabbing spice, I burned it. This was with my dry straw (my other silicone/titanium piece, a straight shooter). The taste of burned spice is not easy to forget. Pipe and brillo for this guy. Hope you have better luck than I did.

I and my friends have had no problem using "low-end" (cheap) dab rigs, with a quartz nail.

I only ever bought one, never even heard of them until my pals told me.

So, I walk into a head shop, tell them I want a low-end dab rig with a quartz nail, and for $45 I got a decent device. 2 pieces. Rig and Nail.

Spend as much as you want, I'm just trying to say you don't need to spend alot. If you're going to spend alot, buy a GVG.

Dab rig is, in my humble opinion, as effective a device as any to get a full dose, in just one hit. Like the song says, "... Take you anywhere you want to go..."

Having said all that, I only use it when I have another person around, because blowtorch and all.

Many threads exist here, about using the dab rig. I consider it as fool-proof as a GVG, just not as safe.

As for your torch, those pricings seem about right.

Sadly the GVG is not an option for me because i would have to let it ship to me all the way from the USA, which would take a very long time and maybe cause some problems i am not aware of yet.
Maybe one question, how big is your dab rig?
I have two options right now a really small one and a medium sized one.

Like I say, I went inexpensive. And I was able to use some of the un-spent budget to contribute to The Nexus and The Traveler...

My DMT oil rig is about as big as Sunnysides, it doesn't have to be huge. I use a quartz banger, no insert or cap.

It can be a little hard to gauge the temp, but through this method I've taken upwards of 70mg "dabs" and usually able to finish the hit in one breath. The only time I wasn't able to finish a hit this way, the dose was unmeasured and was probably closer to 100mg.
20-30mg is my preferred dose anymore tho.

I love taking DMT this way, it isn't harsh at all, it's almost a cold vapor, able to hold for a long time with no problem.

Cool so the magma rig ( number 1 rig i linked above) should be enough.

I am kinda worried that i can´t get a hit that is big enough to breakthrough so i thought that bigger is better.
Because i have this problem with my small electrical vaporizer, can only take many small hits that get me nowhere.
Is a 30 cm rig to big, its almost three times bigger than the small one.

Do you think a taller rig brings more advantages or more disadvantages?
Also, would you recommend a quartz banger over a titanium nail for a beginner like me?
