Golden wax freebase method Options

Happy New Year everyone! I recently did a fumarate>freebase conversion via the golden wax precipitation method, and it got me thinking about questions. I feel tempted to completely skip the fumarate step, and to go straight to this tek on a few extractions. My thought is to pull the DMT with xylene, salt it out with vinegar, then pull the freebase by saturating the solution with sodium carbonate (slowly). It can't be that easy though, otherwise it would have been adopted by the community. I know that DMT sometimes floats on top of a solution with lye, but the majority of the DMT is still in the liquid solution. What makes this tek unique? Do you think this will work?

I don't understand you. Have you got fumarate from your extraction but wanted freebase? Why have you done that?
I want to end up with fumarate in my extractions, but always go through freebase for purification first, then doing FASA to get fumarate.
Do you mean something like that?
Acceptance of the fact that our reality is not real doesn't in fact mean it is not real. It just leads to better understanding what real means.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm okay with fumarate too, but I'm just curious if this short tek would work when you are after freebase. I'm currently making a bit of both fumarate for long term storage, and a bit of freebase for now. The golden wax precipitation doesn't use solvents in the last step, so it might appeal to some.

I am not sure whether I understand, but sodium carbonate should set pH to 11-12, which should be enough for freebasing and subsequent pulling by non-polar.
I would prefer NaOH though.

If you base a fairly clear concentrated solution and shake it with a tiny bit of solvent basically all of it will float to the top where it can be easily scooped out or poured on to a tray and washed with light sodium carbonate water. I've made some nice pink/orange soft crysatlly stuff that wasn't too bad this way.

Thanks Kloud. So it has to be concentrated, and pure. I'll give this a shot to see how it works out.
