Falling Asleep During The Return? Options

Hello all,

I'm not a frequent user as it is quite therapeutic and not exactly enjoyable, while usually profound and helpful. Having said that, when I do smoke Changa, I try to be in a reclining or lying position in order to really relax and fully submit to the experience. This winds up feeling like it transitions at some point from the afterglow of the DMT return with some type of Jungian active imagination or lucid dreaming. It often gives way to a nap which may involve dreaming.

Is this common? Does anyone find themselves drifting off to sleep at the end of trips? It seems to take some of the memories but at the same time it seems I always make some type of progress before falling asleep. So I wake up feeling like I accomplished something.

Is this common, and has anyone else noticed that meditative Changa/DMT use tends to blend into sleep-land?

Thanks! Smile

It has happened to me once. I was so deeply relaxed on the come down that the DMT visuals began to blend in with hypnogogic imagery. Even though the trip itself was somewhat rough, the tail end was profoundly pleasant.

Same as Seeking Pelican here. Happened to me on my first time with Aya. Had a light dose the same night that I made it, and I was dead tired. Started sort of blending with a beginning dream state, but it was quite pleasant.

If you're concerned about it, make sure you're well rested. Exercising regularly and eating well, etc. keeps energy levels up, but every body tells its mind to shut down here and there Smile

During my friend's first and only DMT breakthrough they fell asleep. I was waiting in silence for them to come back and share their experience when 10 minutes in they start snoring. I didn't want to disturb the experience so I waited until 15 minutes in to wake them up and they seemed very dazed haha. But it goes to show that despite the hallucinogenic intensity, some people inadvertently fall asleep during the experience Confused
Strapped down my bed.
Feet cold and eyes red.
I'm out my head. Am I alive, am I dead?
Can't remember what they said.
God damn. Shit the bed!
