ProductSo I decided to upgrade my Mimosa extraction gear from doing 2x 50g to a 6L jar. I was a bit impatient so I used a little less water than what Noman's Tek asks for. I used:
6L water (6750ml recommended)
450g Mimosa Bark - powdered
400g Sodium Hydroxide
4x 450ml Naptha pulls - room temp
5th pull is still sitting in the jar
Yield: 1.77 white + 0.95 tinted
See the trick I found to get these white crystals was not to leave the crystals to dry in glass container. Instead I used silicon spatula to scrape as much out of the glass onto filter papers. This allowed it to dry very quickly.
The more yellow crystal is from the same mix of solvent however this was scraped form the glass and you can see it is still wet.
I'm not sure if this is the only contributing factor to discolouration or maybe the dmt with impurities sticks to the glass? It does seem though that if it is left on the glass it takes a lot longer to dry and thus oxidisation.
Planning to purify the coloured crystal.
However, my concern is that my 2x50g extracts have yielded 1% of root mass yet this big batch has yielded much less.
Can someone shed light as to maybe why? Should I do maybe 3 more pulls in hope to recover the rest? Is it something to do with using a little less water?
Thanks
