So, when does this limitation go away for new members?

It's not a time based thing; it's on a promotion system. Full members can vote for or against the promotion of a user based on their activity on the Nexus. By taking the time to submit an introduction, experience reports, or asking quality questions that spark conversations, the full members will generally vote in favor of your promotion. If you ask a lot of questions that could be easily found by searching the site, people often do not vote or vote against a new user. The votes can be changed, so if you have downvotes, but change your attitude, members can change their votes to vote in your favor.

Good luck, and welcome!

P.S. Filling out the OPTIONAL questionnaire can help or hurt this process. If you give thoughtful, researched answers, people will notice that and vote in your favor. If you just give a lot of "IDK" or "I don't care" type answers, people are less likely to vote. Remember it is optional, so at any point you can stop taking the questionnaire and pick up where you left off on a later date.
Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

Thats kinda retarded.
Has it been like this always?

No wonder this place is dying and so many questions stay unanswered on here.

It's not, really. It does a great job of keeping out the riffraff.

It isn't hard to earn your way in. Just participate in the forum and be genuine.

Just seems to me one has to have a really strong motivation to join any discussion on here. I'd participate if it wasn't for post ban.

You don't have to be a full member to contribute. If there is a discussion you can add to start a post in the welcome area and participate.

If the community judges your contribution to be high quality you will quickly be promoted and be able to post wherever you want.

The only limitation is your own willingness to participate.

It's been like that ever since I have been here and was like that before I joined. I don't feel that it is a flawed system, but perhaps I am biased.

There are many answered questions on the Nexus. You can search almost any topic and see if others have asked similar questions and what kind of dialogue has been exchanged.

If you have some questions about a thread which you cannot post in, you can make a new thread in the welcome area with the subject as "re: thread of interest" and then state your question or comment.

For the most part, you should be able to access all of the teks and PDF files that are stored on the nexus even if you cannot post. Those can be a great resource if you are still gathering information and learning to extract.
Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

There is research that has been done here and is being done here that hasn't been done anywhere else i.e. salvia research currently and plant chemical composition and extraction paths in the past.

You can do a little research and find the information your looking for. If you can't then you must have an interesting question.

So yes, questions are being answered but not spoon fed.

Hope all is well.

Sure, it's a bit of a game gaining "admission" to any University. Just like with psychedelics, if one approaches with a bit of humility and willingness to "subjugate" ones ego to the process, the results can be more favorable.

Answers to the "questionnaire" are more about attitude and a desire to learn. My advice(if you're genuine), would be to take a couple hours and redo yours.

Peace

Thumbs down

The best questions are unanswered...

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Why be so concerned about where you can post?

Just post what you can where you are permitted. As others have mentioned, if people favor your contributions you may eventually gain more privileges.

Whatever you have to say can be appreciated in the welcome area just as much as it might otherwise be in another part of the forum. The audience you are attempting to reach most likely wanders through the welcome area at least sometimes, so keep an active presence and a good attitude.

Also, you might want to refrain from insulting the place and people you wish to have more access to. That usually doesn't go over very well, online or in real life. You won't get through the gate by insulting the gatekeeper.

And lastly, genuine and humble apologies can work true miracles in human relationships.

Be well.

hi guys... sorry to ear that thoughts...
what can i say is that lot of times i saw posts that shown "genuinity"
and others shows that who wrote don't give a shot about rules and why there are rules
and even if some times i'm tempted to put a NO vote i just don't do nothing unless i see that who write don't really want to understand why.
i probably have to leave more experienced users to vote and just be silent as i'm still learning how to behave and i don't want to be too hurry to say my yes or no but as ovirdroid saids if you want to contribute you can do anywhere, same as if you want to show that you don't give a f.

That's how you DON'T get promoted. Using ignorant bigoted language to vent your petty frustration. Do you have anything to share and or teach us besides showing off your vulgar immaturity?

Nevermind, person just dropped off a turd and split, looks like.
