Most extraction recipes use 500 grahams of the bark. If you have only 50 grams, do you simply use 1/10 of the amounts for each other ingredient?

Since using 50 grams, the initial boiling part seems to speed up the process , instead of the typical hour plus boiling , it seemed to be ready in far less of a time. Does she move on to the next phase or add more vinegar water so it boils longer?

Also after using the turkey baster to put the layer in a jar (after freezing for 1-3 days, is it supposed to crystallized then, and they scrap the crystals and leave the rest for later? Botton line, is the top layer going to crystallized in the jar? I saw other methods where a glass baking pan is used and there is nothing but crystal there (where did the other stuff go in this method. I appreciate any help, since she is a newbie and I don't have any knowledge.

ingredients are all reduced by 90% if you only have 50 grams for a 500 gram tek.

Boil times should not be adjusted. If you're losing volume then you're boiling without a lid. Add a lid. The volume of water doesn't play much of a role, only that you'll need to boil a little more away in the reduction phase.

I'm terribly sorry for spreading misinformation then. My apologies, can you explain to me why a 90% reduction in materials is not the approach to take?

Here's my thinking. If a tek calls for 500g of bark and you have only 50 grams of bark. 500g-90%=50g. Therefore any acids, bases, or water required by the tek would also be reduced by 90% since using the same amount of lye and water would seem like a rather significant waste to me. I'm interested to see where my logic fails and why I'm so blatantly wrong, because for the life of me I can't figure out why my cookies I have turn out exactly the same at home as they do at work despite following a recipe for 2 gross but using only 1/8th of the ingredients. If this isn't how chemistry works I'm intrigued to learn more.

You move your acid phase to pH 2-4 in an aqueous solution. You then move to pH11 or above in the same solution (this is freebase) ... then you pull with minimum amount of non polar solvent.

You DO NOT use ratios + or - ingredients. (only pH manipulation)

If you can obtain a 'watery environment' (non sludgy) with bark/water/salt/acid/alkaline ... that's all you need to do. (unless performing a dry tek)

50g-200g of powdered bark will sit adequately in a 1 litre vessel (aqueous solution) .... All pH manipulation and pulls can be done in that space.
