I currently have approximately 100 ml of naphtha saturated with spice in a large sized pyrex dish. I am interested in the slow evap method of the naphtha to possibly result in decent crystals. On my dish i have the lid id say covering 95% of it leaving just a very small slit for air. It so far has been slightly more than 2 days and to me if feels like the naphtha has gone completely no where but the cover of the dish is completely covered in oily residue. It also appears no small crystals are starting to form on the bottom of the dish but even though its a large dish when its fully level there is a decently deep amount of naphtha still. Do i just need to be patient and let this spice evaporate for like a week and a half or am i doing something wrong?

Sometimes it happens that dmt doesnt crystallize well and forms an oil. Sometimes there are also small remains of naphtha trapped within this DMT oil. In either case, one solution to crystallize it would be to scrape and rescrape the oil and letting it evap/dry more, it should harden up, forming a waxy or even crystally DMT.

Considering you wanted bigger crystals though, I think your experiment probably has somewhat failed, you prob wont get any big crystals there. What you might need to do is redissolve it in small amounts of warm naphtha, put in another container and let it evap again slowly. IME a large pyrex dish is NOT the best container to form larger crystals.. Rather I think something like drinking glass might be better. You can also add a little something to act as a crystal seed, which can either be a DMT crystal you might already have from another extraction, or some kind of string, or pretty much anything with an irregular surface that doesnt dissolve in napthha.. Then you can let it evap slowly.

Alternatively, to grow crystals you can try slowly lowering the temperature of your saturated naphtha, and then alternating the container between fridge and freezer every couple of hours, which makes the smaller forming crystals keep redissolving when in the fridge and crystallizing again on top of the bigger crystals in the freezer

so i should just let it sit and chill as is until i get that yellowy waxy oily substance (i am familiar with this as i am a very novice extractor) then proceed with your solution?

You can do that, or you can straight away use a small amount of warm naphtha to dissolve your oil

Someone I know had the same problem.
The problem was that he used his last pull for the crystal growing, and due to extremely little dmt and just oils and fat the result was the same as you describe.
But maybe you dissolved pure white in your naphtha, then it should work, it sure does for the one I know at least.
