Smoking DMT is assumed to be safe as long as the flame does not touch the DMT, because if it did, it would make you throw up and you would inhale toxic chemicals. Then, if you smoke a leaf infused with DMT, also called changa, the flame does touch the DMT, but no one vomits or feels sick after smoking it. Why? And is it more toxic than DMT?

Okay, let's assume DMT is 'non-toxic' upon direct combustion. You wouldn't want to burn DMT directly, anyhow, as this can destroy much of the needed tryptamine in and of itself. Typically, this will not induce favorable results for most people who want an authentic, safe and tolerable experience. The changa route is utilized indirectly by infusing desired herbs (like a sandwich) so that the DMT isn't being exposed to direct, open flame. And depending on which plants are used will determine the overall pleasantness of the experience. Examples include rue, peppermint, spearmint, lotus, wild lettuce, mugwort, the list goes on and on. DMT is essentially very safe with a very high LD50. There are no reported deaths from solely dimethyltryptamine. https://wiki.dmt-nexus.m...s_Wiki:Health_and_Safety'What's going to happen?' It has to be more toxic than DMT alone if combusted, largely because of tar contained in smoke... But a single cone of leaf, or even as much changa as you could possibly smoke in a lifetime, would cause negligible harm. We're quite resilient creatures. That said, I don't flame my changa but use a mini torch from afar coming closer until the bowl lights up and then remove the heat. Works well. I've heard of people using dry herb vaporizers for changa, but I haven't tried it. The nearest we ever come to knowing truth is when we are witness to paradox.

Vaporized DMT (with or without added herbs) would be the ideal route for less 'harm' or 'toxicity.' Its just different precision and efficiency. 'What's going to happen?' 'Something wonderful.'

And here I am thinking of it as my mini heat gun as the flame doesn't appear to touch the herb. I find an appreciable difference using a mini torch compared to a Bic though. It tastes different. I can usually taste the DMT before the bowl lights using a torch, whereas it's straight into heavy smoke with a Bic. Also the whole bowl seems to come alight at the same time rather than having cherries that need to be chased slowly or re-lit. You've ruined some part of my perceived reality CH. I'm gonna set the lemurs on you. The nearest we ever come to knowing truth is when we are witness to paradox.
