Salutations,
If SWIM was looking to do an extraction using 100g of MHRB via Noman tek, then SWIM would assume that 1.5L H20 would be used to dissolve 100g NaOH, and that 100g of powdered MHRB would then be added to this. Following on would be the addition of 100mls Naptha, and after the first pull additional volumes of Naptha added for a total of 3 times, meaning the total amount of Naptha added throughout is 400mls.
Thus, my question is would a 2 Litre preserves jar be sufficient capacity for this volume of materials/solvents etc?
SWIM would hate to waste a batch only to realise SWIMS containers were too small.

Sometimes powdered bark can sort of soak up the water making it a bit too sludgy for the naptha to seperate easily. A gallon pickle jar works out to about 3.5L of usable space. You don't want to get stuck without enough room to fix a gunky soup problem. All posts written by Madcap should be regarded as fiction.

So a gallon jar would be the wise choice then you believe?

To be safe you could always just try with half your MHRB at a time.

Yeah SWIM knows but SWIM is somewhat dubious over how easy it is to retrieve quantities below 1g (assuming a 1% recovery of course!).
SWIM thanks you for the words of wisdom.

Look in the stores for...plastic hdpe 2 jugs(in triangle on bottom of jug)...1/2 gallon vinegar jugs or blue window washer fluid jugs...clean them out well..... this will be a 100% safer than glass and seal a lot easier than pickle jars.
