Consulting spirit guides Options

I have thinking about this quite a bit lately. Guides. Spirit guides.

I have seen many cartoons that when the main character would face a moral dilemma, an angel and a devil would appear suddenly on their shoulders. They would consult the angel and receive advice. Then they consult the devil on the other shoulder and listen to what he had to say, and then would make a their choice of action.

When we think, we hear a voice in our heads. But is it one voice? Many cultures refer to the negative and positive within us. We have the capacity for love and compassion. We have the capacity to do horrible things and commit terrible acts of violence.

There is an indian proverb that says that everyone is a house with fours rooms, a physical, an emotional, a mental, and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time., but unless we go into every room every day, even if only to keep it aired, we are not a complete person.

I always wanted to be whole person. Who doesn't? So how to balance? Consult your spirit guides for spiritual matters? Consult your emotional guides for emotional matters? If we are separate this way then are these different voices or rooms are separate from us? If they are separate does that make them guides?

My perceptions about this have changed recently. I find myself being creative with my thinking when I recognize these distinct voices within myself. I imagine the "good" voice to be this kind and wise man who always wants the best for me, something like Mr. Miyagi from 'Karate Kid'. I imagine the "bad" voice as some whispery and deceitful character something like the Gollum from 'Lord of the Rings'. I imagine a child as the emotional voice. I imagine myself in the center of all this chatter and them all talking at once. No one is listening to anyone else. Someone has to conduct this odd symphony.

So I made them all guides or rooms. This line of thought has been beneficial to how I approach my thoughts. I don't know if I need to assign these rooms or voices as guides. It is a creative thought process that I found intriguing. I am very careful not to sway into any kind of superstitious thinking.

Does anyone relate to this? Does anyone consult their spirit guide(s)? If so, how did you come to recognize them? In what way do you consult them? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Have a great day! Thumbs up

Thats's really interesting that the indian proverb designates them as rooms...

Who pus them all together? Your ego, of course!! All of these different voices or rooms or perspectives are just all of the different perspectives that form your whole self.

All of them are important... Even and sometimes especially the "devil"... The deviant, the outsider, the abnormality, the incarnate, "in the flesh" desires....

I think, to be truly wholesome and balanced, you must become fluent and understanding of ALL of the rooms, and balance them out. They all have an important message. They all come from something REAL and VALID and ACCURATE.

Like everything, balance is key.

PS... To channel them individually, you have to recognize on a personal level what characterizes these "rooms" or "voices" for you. It's gonna be different for everyone. Write them all down in a journal, and add to the list as you gain more experience. As you develop these archetypes further, they will become easier to recognize. To channel them, simply enter a gnostic state, and become *inspired* by them. The conversations and insight you can pull from these altered states is nothing short of incredible.
Once in a while, you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Thanks for the input. I have been developing these archetypes very much as you describe which is reassuring.

Most of the time, they tell me stuff when they know I need, and otherwise, hang out in the background. Sometimes, I ask them stuff I'm seeking some solution to, but they don't always give explicit answers, sometimes clues so that I can find the answer on my own. They seem most active when I'm undergoing some emotional crisis, mostly when I can't control the emotions properly myself, for which they give moral support with a kind, caring uplifting energy, and if it gets real bad, they deaden the crazy flow and reassure me everything's fine.

I recognise them by the "feel" of their distinct energy and voices. It certainly feels distinct from my intuition, which is more of a wiser bunch of thoughts that come from somewhere within. If they think I do can something myself, they leave me be. And if there's a lesson that's better learned through raw experience, they'll just let it happen without intervening, and give occasional comment.
