I can only speak for myself here, but I take psychedelics to explore my inner world. I have no aim, no expectations, no purpose. I seek nothing in particular, which really means I seek everything.
The journey builds up to the destination. You can't just instantly transport from where you are to where you want to be. You need to traverse the path, taking it all in. Only then will you realise the road you walk, and why you walk it.
Only the individual can grasp the state of Being. No one else can experience the inward journey of another. All we can do is talk about what it is, which is self-defeating. To experience is to know, and until we can connect brains together, we cannot transfer this experiential information to another.
I truly believe that those who have dissolved their ego know what Being is. Dissolving the ego is like holding a lot of baggage, then throwing out all the crap that is unnecessary. An ego death is like letting go of all the baggage and taking a step back, only to see what you've been holding this entire time. Then you can decide the best way to hold all of it and carry it with you.
"A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools."
