Do nexians still clean DMT with ethanol and sodium carbonate? Options

I found this following information on this website, but I noticed no tek employed these steps, so I figured I'd ask to gauge the response from the experts. Maybe this outdated info... but basically, these steps are to be taken to clean your DMT of possible lye contamination. To do so, you need sodium carbonate, apparently.

Quote:
Have your product still in the solvent, before evaporation/precipitation. If you have already in crystal form, redissolve in a naphtha/heptane/hexane.

Add anywhere in between a pinch to 5 grams of sodium carbonate (yes, doesnt matter... All that is necessary is for it to be a basic solution) to 100ml clean water.

Add your spice-containing solvent and the sodium carbonate solution together in a container. Mix/shake/whatever (emulsions will not form).

Separate the solvent from the sodium carbonate solution using pippette/turkey baster/syphon/separatory funnel. One can repeat steps 2-4 if desired, but not strictly necessary

Freeze precipitate or evaporate to retrieve your DMT

Afterward, now that you're sure your DMT crystals don't have any lye, it recommends another step to clean it of toxic solvents (naphtha trapped in the crystals)... this time, you either need "ethanol or IPA/Acetone," according to the following steps. I am not sure how much ethanol you need though. It's not explained, and I haven't found any other info on cleaning your DMT with ethanol. And by "IPA/Acetone," I'm assuming it means "Isopropyl Alcohol/Acetone?" So is that a mix of two ingredients? If so, it would be a lot easier to procure just one ingredient Ethanol for this procedure.

Quote:
Remember that regardless of washing, its still very important to make sure there are no solvent traces in your spice, which can be done with thorough air drying, or redissolving your dmt in a non-toxic (or less toxic) solvent like ethanol, or pure IPA/Acetone, and evapping that again

you can wash solvent with water or slightly basic water.

acetone/IPA implies acetone or IPA.

you dont really need multiple threads for the same enquiry, you will get answers, just be patient

Thanks.

I deeply apologize for the redundancy.

May I ask what "basic water" is? I've searched for it, and I'm not sure what is meant by "basic water?"

Is there a page with instructions for cleaning DMT with basic water? I've only been able to find info on cleaning with ethanol, acetone, or IPA?

Also, try searching in google like this:

washing dmt site:www.dmt-nexus.me

This searches specifically inside the Nexus. Google search engine works much better than The Nexus search engine. You can type anything and then site:www.dmt-nexus.me

It is an invaluable tool...

Good luck cinderblock!

Alright, thanks, so by "basic water," you mean to say "basic solution," correct?

And to make a basic solution, you use the sodium carbonate method that I quoted in the original post? Or do you practice something else? Your reply sounded like you were referring to another method.

I try my best to search for everything before asking questions. Sometimes though, I have a hard time finding answers to certain questions, despite searching and asking around. Thanks for the encouragement.
