The first few times I've done extractions using Cyb's hybrid ATB salt tek and used a 750 ml glass bottle which worked well. But as I am worried about possible contaminants/reactions from the metal lids I purchased a litre glass Pyrex bottle with glass stopper (shown in the photo below).

The problem I am going to have is getting a thick enough layer of solvent to actually pul,l it even with a decent glass syringe with a wheel. The volume of the bottle above is a litre to the point where the neck comes in. To get the solvent far enough up the neck to create a thick enough layer to pull easily I have the following options:
1) I increase the overall volume by adding more deionised water. Will this negatively affect the yield? As in Cyb's tek the overall volume of basified solution is a round 700 ml. I would need to take the basified solution up to around 1.2 litre I reckon but will need to measure it properly.
2) increase the amount of all ingredients to get to the 1.2 litre mark. How much should I add of each thing (MHRB, lye, water, salt, vinegar)
3) use a lot more solvent to create a thick enough layer to pull. If I do this would it better to do 2 large pulls with a lot of mixes and settle outs before pulling, say 8 mixes per pull.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
