So.... I just recently started to try my hand at extracting harmalas using the easy caapi extraction method.
    My first attempt I consider a success although my entire yield was .18% from some yellow caapi... I blame this on myself because I threw things away that obviously still had much more to give in retrospect. It was still wonderful however since that was plenty for me to have some incredibly meaningful experiences from the changa I made with it
   My second attempt was a failure but It was due to my ignorance of the species at the time resulting in me getting alicia instead of caapi (I have since educated myself on the subject as much as possible)

Now I have two questions that I haven't been able to answer by searching this forum as I have been able to do before.

1. I now have 100g of alicia anisopetala that I know does not contain the alkaloids I want and I am wondering.... Is it just trash at this point or is there anything useful I could do with it?

2. I am now on my third caapi extraction, I am using yellow caapi and I have gotten so far 540mg from the 100g of vine.... I have my original jar which is still very cloudy but it isn't settling more than like a quarter inch and it's been a week and a half.... is there any way for me to help it settle? Or is it just a wait and see kind of situation?

Out of curiosity I placed a couple pieces of what I believed to be alicia anisopetala... I heated it a little and the water now glows under a blacklight the same color as my other caapi extractions.... does alicia glow also? I was under the impression that it did not so now I am a little confused and think I might have hastily classified this vine as alicia

i have some alicia that i cant bring myself to throw away so its just sat in the back of the cupboard, i know if i throw it someone will find a life altering use for it so im happy to keep it just in case.

you could filter the poorly settled alks through a coffee filter or just siphen and evap the liquid, id guess there isnt much there.

harmalas glow but alicia should have any, however other substances glow as well, maybe send it away for testing. post a pic of the vine for an alicia ID

I keep having the same thought which is why I still have this lying around after a couple months, lol.

You can place your cloudy mixture on sub woofer and play some MAR1LYN MAN5ON that will help it settle

When you make a tea out of the alicia does it glow under a uv light? That's the aspect that's throwing me at the moment. I know that other alkaloids glow under a uv light and I am in no way planning on partaking of anything unless I know for a fact what it is first... the fact that this is glowing under a uv light with relatively the same coloring as I am used to seeing with caapi... it's perplexing and very interesting to me. At this point I just wish I had some analysis equipment at my disposal, lol.

well thats alicia and alicia has been analysed on the site, check out endlessness' work, the substances in it are unknown.

theres a few nexians who have drunk this vine and we have had effects and are not dead. I feel like it had an effect on vaped DMT but due to variability of the experience this could well have been subjective trickery.
