Soo I am an old lurker on the "new member" status, so I can only really post here; move to where u see fit!

After reading about Jurema soap, and realizing how simple the soap making process can be, as well as trying to make the most use out of my materials, I was determined to make soap with my leftovers. Unfortunately, there is no straight forward tecipe or tek for such soap. So here yall go!

This is not super exact, but I think anyone who's pretty familiar with the chemistry on this site outa be able to follow.
Feel free to chime in, ask questions, clarify, improve, etc...

I had some old acacia confusa soup sittin around I forgot about. I cannot remember exactly which tek I used or how much base is in it, but I used KOH for base. Acacia confusa/koh soup...

I took the soup, and assumed that I had used a koh saturated solution to base, so something like 125g/100ml koh to dh2o
This saturated basic solution was added to acidified acacia tea long ago, I'm assuming it diluted the koh to maybe 150g:500ml dh2o. This is the assumed concentration of KOH in my basic soup. I may be way off...
I used 500ml fractionated coconut oil (fco); this is a type of refined coconut oil which has been "fractioned" or separated of its long-chain fatty acids which make most coconut oil solid at temperatures <76F. Fco remains liquid even in cold temps, and is supposed to have almost indefinate shelf life. It is generally better used for lotions and topical products, but worked fine for my soap. I have a huge drum of the stuff, so that's my reason for use. Any oil, butter, or other fatty substance ought to sufice, though you will need to adjust the water:oil:base ratios. Consult a soap lye calculator and adjust accordingly.
*NOTE* most soap makers/website will tell you to use weight for measurements, not volume...

500ml fco
500ml acacia soup
500ml dh2o

-Heat fco to around 200-220F in large STAINLESS STEEL pot: we're gonna be boiling bases here, use the same material/utensil safety guidelines suggested for most other projects on this site.
-Add acacia soup
-Stir well: I have a nice heavy duty stainless steel spoon I like to use
-Add rest of water
-stir well
-bring to a light boil/simmer while stirring
-put lid on CRACKED so the steam n pressure releases, otherwise it will foam up n b quite the mess
-stir well every 30 mins or so
-simmer for about 3hrs: oil an aqueous layers should merge, forming a thick purple gel that puffs up from the heat.
-stir well, remove from heat, cover completely, let sit overnight.

Congratulations! You now have acacia liquid soap paste!
This can be diluted with water to make hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, w/e. Should prob neutralize n dilute with a pinch of citric acid dissolved in 2-4x water. Add your favorite essential oils to smell nice.

That's it!
Enjoy!
