What are some of the things you do before delving into heavy DMT trips? I tend to tidy up the room the DMT is to be smoked in, then dance until all my excess energy is released, put on more relaxed music and empty my mind (meditate if you will). When I got rid of excess energy and thoughts I turn off the music and lights, state short prayer of intent, take a small hit of the changa bowl to get in the right headspace, and then a couple minutes later I blast off. I always make sure I am well hydrated and not hungry as well, and never smoke on a full stomach. I also avoid weed that day, although a beer is sometimes very nice. A pen and paper is always present, so I can record the experience after coming down. Phones/computers etc are turned off/disconnected for the duration of the experience.
Curious to hear what rituals/habits others have established. If you guys do anything at al Smile.

Sounds like the same way i prepare Laughing

Have you tried out in nature yet?
I can't always get to a good place to do it.
But following the same guidelines as one would in your home, out in a nice spot in the woods far away from everything it's very nice.

I like to take a few hours & build a large circle from rocks & smooth, curved fallen branches with no rot. Make up an altar with some things i bring in a backpack & setup a small tent with the front open & some blankets & pillows to keep warm incase i get the chills.
Smoking with a nice view out into the forest or into a open field with rolling hills or far off water is perfect.

Shower, a nice light meal (huge bowl of various greens/vege and some type of fish), a decent amount of water leading up to smoking. Nice smells, ambient/dark setting, light music.

That's pretty much what I do, more or less; or 'have done'. Anymore, I find, the most profound/intense/deep experiences come from me respectively throwing caution to the wind, and going for it, no-thought or emotional investment in the moments leading up to toking; going in with 'nothing'. This has proved to be very positive in regards to the actual unfoldment of the experience and my reaction to it. Kind of like "I trust you, let's go!".

I like this idea. This was basically my method when I first discovered the entheogenic power of DMT and psilocybe cubensis, and I had some very moving experiences. At this point I am pretty set on my ritual because it feels like an entirely different dynamic to me, but I may try your method again in the future. Thumbs up

I have used to get wicked pre-flight anxiety after having difficult experiences I will make tea darken the room, ambient lighting. a loose set of sun salutations, meditate to still the mind from the day and acknowledge my work in spite of shortcomings. I thank the plants that gave me the spice and pray to guide the hands of the harvesters to be kind as possible. And go go go!
Marijuana, LSD, psilocybin, and DMT they all changed the way I see

Prep my pen and paper on my desk, straighten my sheets, prepare my equipment, and drink some soothing ice water.

Similar to above, I don't like to have too much buildup. I don't like to be nervous going into it, but no matter how little I think about my coming journey, my hands always shake a bit, just like McKenna says (unless I'm trying to breakthrough for the second or third time in one day - in this case I'm much more confident).

Thanks for all the input. Seems like you guys use similair methods to center yourselfs. And yes I love to smoke spice on impulse as well.

No not yet, I've always been a bit weary about smoking DMT outside but I've only recently started smoking changa instead of dabbing pure spice. I found a perfect spot within walking distance of my house not to long ago, so I'll have to give it a try once it gets a bit warmer.

I don't do intent , it has never occurred to me to try that.
I do have the same ritual every time though.
I start with a glass of white tea (the good stuff), followed by placing everything in a specific place. My blindfold to the right of me , my volume control (the right way up ) to my left. There is nothing worse than trying to turn the music down but you cant figure out your remote control.
Light my incense burner ( Holy Wood )
During all of this I will have to visit the bathroom.
Then everything gets locked cocked n rocked , time to do it Smile

(outdoors is where its at)
