METAtonin? Options

Came across this website:

http://metatoninresearch.org/

I'm not sure what to make of this, these people have re-named endogenous DMT "METAtonin" and are conducting some sort of (psuedo?)research involving endogenous DMT

(I have found a good deal of misinformation and factual errors in this site, yet I'm still curious as to what this is all about...)

Like I said I'm not sure what to make of all this, what are your opinions, thoughts, and ideas?

Origin of the word METAtonin
Presently, there is no way to differentiate the pure chemical DMT (an illegal substance) from the internally produced, or endogenous, form. The name METAtonin is an attempt to differentiate these two: the natural source from the synthetic: here is the logic> melatonin and METAtonin are both derivatives of serotonin. Serotonin is of the tryptamine family; Melatonin is of the methyltryptamine family and METAtonin is a of the dimethyltryptamine family. Melatonin is a derivative of serotonin (serotonin + one methyl molecule), METAtonin is a derivative of Melatonin (melatonin + one methyl molecule). Each of these is a higher octave of the previous one. Hence METAtonin, a higher octave of melatonin. Each of these hormones neurochchemically shapes the state of consciousness in a unique way.

Melatonin is not a methyltryptamine, it is an acetyltryptamine. And 5-methoxylated, unlike DMT. So the origin of the word METAtonin is based on a fair bit of misunderstanding of elementary facts.

The site's owner seems to have done a nice job of compiling all the internet memes regarding DMT and boiling them into a richly flavored broth. This forum gets a honorable mentioning in the links section:

I don't know why they would want to separate 'endogenous DMT' from 'extracted DMT' when Trying to classify. That is counter productive, in my opinion.

It seems to suggest that "is ok to have these molecules in the body, but not ok to hold the molecules in our hands. When we hold it in our hands, we call it illegal DMT. But when our body makes it, we call the EXACT same thing 'natural' metatonin."

Nah. Dmt is dmt.
Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.
