Looks really good for keeping window cleaner in. Shame HDPE isn't suitable with naphtha at temps above 60c otherwise it would be good for an extraction.

I use HDPE milk jugs all the time for extraction and they work just fine. This container looks much thicker than a milk jug and I'm thinking with that pouring spout one could pour off the naptha or xylene layer nicely!
Thanks for the tip quetzalcoatl42. I will have to keep my eyes open for these.
Peace

Why would you extract at 60C? The only thing that'll do at that temp is collect maor fats and oils. Warm the naptha up to day, 50C and pull from room temp. The naps will be cooled off right away.

You get more from each pull with warm solvent and soup. I have some crystal clear spice that looks like frost and some darker redder "jungle spice" which contains more oils.

I prefer the darker spice (find it hits harder) so intentionally pull a few oils over.

Lots of folks are just going to be dumping hydroxide in the soup and then following up with naphtha straight after which will easily get the soup over 60c which renders the HDPE unsuitable.

Just because you do something carefully and with knowledge does not mean others will, although HDPE can be used I would not outright recommend it to people.

Borosilicate glass vessel is what I would reccomend to anyone to ignorant to look up material property's themselves. Personally I use a erlenmeyer flask, all glass syringe and magnetic stirrer hot plate.

hello quetzalcoatl42,

can i ask a question, why would you want to take the risk of plastic contamination, no matter how small that risk may be, when its very very easy to find a glass vessel to use, id guess nearly every food shop in the world sells wine.

they work, but have you had your extracts tested? if not how do you know your product isnt contaminated?

obviously your free to do as you please, but im baffled when people take completely unessesary risks with their health
