Hi Everyone,

It's been a loooooong time since I grew. The last time I did it was years ago and I ended up burning a large spot in a hardwood floor using an old water bed heating pad under the fruiting chamber. Well the thermostat broke and the thing heated up enough to char the first 1/4" of wood. Land lord was pissed....

Anyway, could you help me review my intended method?

1) Liquid culture. Following Cybers TEK for LC jars, I plan on using RTV glue to make self-healing jars. Should I just buy the regular injection lids online? Or do these work well enough?

2) From there, I have an old spore syringe. It's been through some poor conditions such as heat plus it lost it's label so I have no idea what strain it is. I'll probably get a new one.

3) With new spores, I'm planning on following Cyber's LC TEK but with a different recipe from "High Quality Liquid Culture - Step by Step"

Recipe:
1.5 t malt
1.5 t dextrose
1 L H20

4) After this I'm going to do a small culture on agar pitri dish to test for cleanliness of the LC.

5) For injecting LC jars, I found a method that doesn't use a flowhood or glovebox. It's the "Fast, Easy, Foolproof Inoculation" method. Has anyone tried this? Does it really work? Or should I use a glovebox? Back in the day, I built a tiny clean room with plastic sheeting.

6) For the actual grow, I plan on using Rye berries. For a Rye TEK, I plan on following Magash's "From syringe to print using rye". Again, has anyone used this TEK?

7) For casing, I plan on using the "Late Casing TEK". I'm really not sold on this one but it does bring up some good points.

8.) For the incubation and fruiting chamber, I'm planning on using an insulated fish tank, 2x 14W CLF "white" (~5500K) bulbs 14 hours on, a thermostat set to 85F, and an ultrasonic humidifier (as outlined in Ragash's TEK, same link as Rye TEK) with a few dashes of H202 in the mix to cut down on contams.

Does this seem like a solid plan? What would you do differently? What would you add?
